my car is a gt swap with a 2zz and c60 it was done by previous owner and i had got this car off auction do to the fact that some one vandelizd it, first i had to solve the wiring mess cuz the vandelz tried to hot wire the car and couldnt cuz of the alarm so after i got a new alarm and got most of the major things fixed i decided to go for a test drive i let the car warm up and while driving the car normally i noticed the tech was very jumpy like if ur at 4k in first and u shift to second it would jump around before going down to like 2k and then i tried to hit lift and after getting the car up to 6.8k it wouldnt hit, so i decided to try to go higher and it started at around 7200 and it would go to like 8.7 without hitting rev limiter and i didnt want to take it any higher, so im thinking its a bad tach or wat else could the problem be???

if we are talking the stock tach, the needle and hub can get stuck if pushed too far in. i would pull the gauge sluster out and pull the hub off. then lightly push the hub back on. it doesnt need to go on very hard so be careful.
