Someone here has carbon fiber front fenders, they mensioned it in another post I went searching but can't find it. They said that they bought them from fiber images, but when I phoned fiber images they said they never made them for the celica and probably never will. So were did they get them?

My sponsor carries them. I plan on getting them someday and painting them. I am going to make it look like the CF is overflowing from my hood onto my fenders. I will work some sort of design into it so you can tell they are CF, but still be painted and look good.

You should be able to sand down the clear they use on the parts then have a paint shop spray it with 1-2 coats paint then clear it. You will still be able to see the carbon fiber through the paint up close but it will look like normal panels a little further away from the car. When I get my hood I am going to do this. I have seen people who have done this and it looks good. You don't even know it is Carbon Fiber until you get up close and then it's like D@M.

I've seen them around for a while. Have any numbers ever been published in regards to comparative weight? The factory fenders are so small and light already, I wouldn't be surprised if the Carbon fiber ones actually weighed more, depending on how thick the CF is and how much epoxy they put over it of course. I haven't seen any numbers, but I would think that this is more of an appearance mod, not a weight saving mod. Which is fine, but if you are going for the weight saving performance aspects of them(i.e. you are just going to paint over them), I would avoid them untill given some weights to prove that they actually provide a decrease in weight.

I was told they weigh about the same, so they are more for looks than anything. If you buy them for weight reduction, you are wasting your money. Plain and simple. ;)

Those stock fenders are light as hell. Feels like foil.

they're ugly unless you match them up with a urethane blitz front
