iv wanted to do this also,... one day haha. Im just not sure whether either to buy one of those screen systems or get a jdm console.

thats a tough decesion i think i would go with the dvd system but never really seen a celica with it soo im just wondering how it would look like before i do anything lol

screw the JDM console. Go for the DVD player. Im sure it will be alot more fun to poke then the JDM console

yes it's very easy to do yourself. don't forget to buy the dash kit fill in the gaps on the sides of the stereo.

I wouldnt imagine that just a dvd screen would increase sound quality, get a setup with a touch screen, amp, good speakers etc then you will start to hear a difference

sound quality from a receiver depends on the internal amp and if you get a good in dash screen it will sound better than a stock deck but no different than a comparable regular cd player. if you want the best sound quality/bass you need external amps and sub(s) which is what i did. certain in dash screens either have a built in or add on surround sound processor but unless you have a center channel speaker you won't notice an improvement in sq.
