BMW X6
Cadillac CTS-V
Dodge Challenger
Dodge Ram
Ford F150
Ford Flex
Honda Pilot
Honda Accord
Infiniti FX50
Lincoln MKS
Hummer H3T
Toyota Venza
VW Routan
VW Tiguan

Lets see here . . . .

Personally, I think the X6 is a joke, I think the Challenger sales will fizzle once the people who actually want one get one, I think the F-150 will be fine (people still need trucks, its just people who DON'T need trucks won't get one), I think the Pilot is hideous, I kind of like the new Accord but agree its bloated . . . . the H3T is a joke, the FX50 is COOL I don't care if it gets 14 mpg. All the VWs are ridiculous, and the Venza is a bloated retarded minivan, a total redundancy.

Ford Flex
Honda Pilot - People will buy this.
Honda Accord - People will buy this.
Infiniti FX50 - Same people that want the X6 want this.
Lincoln MKS - why?

Every time I see a new Accord I think it looks like a Saturn. Definitely a downgrade on the style IMO. It's almost like they made the new sedan look like the previous generation coupe model or something. But it's an Accord so they'll sell millions of them.

I would buy a CTS-V, if that's the one with the Z06 engine. I don't see myself buying any of the others, although at one point in time I considered a Pilot.

I don't know about the others, but the Challenger is definitely DOA. It's not much different from the Charger in either looks or performance.

I saw a BMW X6 driving around here in detroit last week. When I saw the pics I thought it looked ugly. But I gotta say, it was actually pretty sharp and different looking in person.

BMW X6 ~ THIS A JOKE?!? TWIN TURBO V8!?! ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!? THIS IS THE FIRST STEP TO THIS MOTOR GOING INTO A 5 SERIES IN STICK...BUT UNTIL THEN...IT WILL GET ITS WAR WOUNDS IN THIS...WHATEVER THE FCUK IT IS...

Cadillac CTS-V ~ THIS THING WILL FCUKING DOMINATE ALL, 12.0 SECOND STOCK IS NOTHING TO LAUGH AT. WTF WILL HAPPEN WHEN YOU ADD I/H/E/TUNE/SMALLER PULLEY/LIGHT RIMS/WEIGHT REDUCTION/DRAG RADIALS/WATER INJECTION?!?!?

Dodge Challenger ~ THIS MOFO WILL GET CHEAP AND FAST IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME...BOLT ONS AND NITROUS...LOOK OUT...

Dodge Ram ~ I HAD A DAKOTA FOR A WHILE, DODGE TRUCKS CAN TAKE BEATINGS, JUST NOT THE INTERIOR AND OTHER BITS...

Ford F150 ~ ICONIC TRUCK WILL STAY ICONIC
Ford Flex
Honda Pilot

Honda Accord ~ THERE WILL ALWAYS BE PEOPLE WHO WILL BUY ANY TRIM OF THIS CAR, AND DRIVE IT ON THE STREET.

Infiniti FX50 ~ INFINITI > NISSAN. MUCH BETTER APPEARANCE WISE THAN SETTLING WITH A NISSAN.
Lincoln MKS

Hummer H3T ~ I AGREE, TIS A JOKE, UNLESS THE V8 VERSION PERFORMS BETTER OFFROAD THAN THE H2, WHICH WILL STILL SUCK COMPARED TO LAND ROVERS
Toyota Venza
VW Routan

VW Tiguan ~ GUH

they are doing all sorts of test driving and general diagnostic testing throughout the metro detroit area. Just today i saw TWO of them, all "covered" up with their masking sh!t, and the badges removed, with the unique license plates. both drivers i saw into the window of each one looked bored, and were just monitoring data on a computer at the same time. I agree though, it actually does not look bad in person at all, and has a pretty mean stance to it.

The BMW X6 we had seen drive by us on the road was here in Warren and it was fully uncovered in this really nice burgundy color.

I went to a show at the BMW place months ago where they were showing the new M3, the 1-series and the X6. It was alright looking. I was surprised at the engine it had in it.

Afford and Accord should go hand in hand.

anticipating and purchasing are 2 different things. I think even we can agree on that. :D

Seeing as the market in the US is overwhelmingly tilted towards fuel consumption vehicles now I don't think any fatass muscle car coming out soon is going to burn up the sales charts. Almost every ad campaign I have seen recently advertises MPG over HP or any other feature.

Or...in a balsy move...buy a Z06. I've never been a big corvette guy, even though for the price they're hard to beat, especially with the bump in HP last year. I wouldn't pay the premium for the Z06 if I got a vette though. But that engine in a regular sedan cadillac? That could be sweet. That or a C63.

you think gas prices are going to stop people from buying their weekend sports car???? It's not something that moves everyday and probably goes maybe 30 miles a week, people will still buy their sports cars. It will never be a road full of Prius Fits and Yaris...That's a environmentalists dream that'll never happen.

You are right there, but what I think some people are trying to get at is that people that can only afford one main daily driver will most likely bypass the muscle car as their first choice, when in the past it was a viable option.

A world full of Yaris and Priuses is a world I don't want to live in. :chuckles:

My Prius has probably increased in value this past year. But like you said, I will always have a car that gets under 20 MPG on premium gas. I don't drive that much in total any more, and especially my fun car. It's just weekends and nights mostly. Actually I've been driving the fun car to work 4 days a week just to put some miles on it. I'd hate to return it after 2 years with only 4-5000 miles on it.

And the C63/E63 are the reasons why the CTS-V is dead in the water.

The German supersedans will eat it alive simply because GM has killed all its brand cachet and good will with consumers.

GM will see C-11 by next year - you heard it here first

(oh, and Chrysler will file C-11 this summer during their two week "break").

People are having trouble making mortgage payments, affording food (which has doubled in some cases) and paying for gas (again, it has doubled).

I don't think these people are in the market for a weekend sports car.

The amount of people who can afford a weekend sports car and will actually choose THIS as their weekend sports car is insignificant - the car will not generate mammoth profits or sell in large numbers.

The V6/base models have always been the volume sellers for the Mustang and Camaro, and will be for this car - except the people who buy the V6 buy it for their primary car, and nobody is buying them anymore as their fuel economy is trash, and this is consumer's #1 priority.

In fact, more than four out of 10 (45 percent) 18-43 year-olds say it's a fashion faux-pas nowadays to have a car that is not green or environmentally friendly.

73% say the rising cost of traditional fuel would influence their decision to buy a hybrid vehicle as their next purchase.

Close to nine in 10 women (88 percent) say they'd rather chat up someone with the latest fuel-efficient car versus the latest sports car.

Eighty percent of American car buyers would find someone with the latest model fuel-efficient car more interesting to talk to at a party than someone with the latest model sports car.

Gas prices have influenced my decision to sell my Prius. I probably will never sell it now whereas I had thought about it in the past. But they won't stop me from having a fun car still. Best of both worlds.

So you're NOT a gay Mazda Miata loving hippie? :chuckles:

But I agree with a lot of what you're saying, outside of a girl talking to the prius owner instead of the damn muscle car owner...

V6's will still sell, not sure about V8's until they improve their technology like how GM did with the LS series from staying out of the gas guzzling tax. There are actually people out there who would rather floor the gas and merge onto the highway with some sort of urgency than to floor the gas pedal and pray you merge without incident...

And of course, this is your average automatic transmission driving American...
