View Full Version : HID Help: Flickers and goes out
I just put in the second bulb tonight and it flickers and then doesn't light up. The other one works fine. Its running through the standard wiring, on the upper connector that looks like a rectangle.
I took a video to better explain it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E45KpAALk68
Thanks in advance for any advice or help :)
What kit did you buy?
Is the ballast securely mounted? Wires connected tight? Bulb fastened down?
If you did all of those, you got a crappy kit.

1) Mod-Express
2) It is not securely mounted yet, I just hooked up everything on top of a towel in the headlight area making sure nothing could short out to test before mounting it.
3) Wires seem secure, tried plugging and unplugging everything to ensure they were snug
4) Bulb is securely fastened

Its easy. Just swap the ballast first and if that doesn't fix the problem then try the other bulb with the 1st ballast. That way you can figure out which of the two is the one with the problem. I would think that you got a warranty when you bought it. Ive had to replace my e bay kit twice already in less then a year. Its time to send your back in
I just re-checked the wiring and it looks good... the flicker and die is very consistent. One thing I just remembered is that the first time I turned it on it worked for a few seconds and was a yellow... much more than the other bulb. Then I heard a light popping sound similar to the current flicker-on sound and it went out. At the time I thought I imagined it but in retrospect I'm guessing thats where it failed.

You posted this just as I was writing the last response... thanks for the advise, I think I'll give them a call in the morning.
