I just got finished reading the other thread "search function ...... 60 second rule" and now understand how it is taxing on the server. I try to help other members out mostly in Audio and Wash, where I have the most knowledge, and many times I refer them to searching for key terms or just do it for them and link the pages. A direct link to the answer page is the only way I find that they get the Q answered and the new thread dies of its redundancy.

My question is, is there a way to link a search results page? I've tried it in the past and it gives an error "page not found." I guess if there was it would mean that the search would have to be permanently stored somewhere just like a thread is.

I'm just tiring of the "which is the best......." threads and would like to keep things as clean as possible, while looking ahead to new ideas and products.

The car has been out 3 years, the number of modifications available could fit in the glove box, we have nearly 10,000 members don't you think that there has been some consensus on which are the best. Use the search!

thanks-
Brad

to answer your question, no you cant link to a search results page. a FAQ would be the best thing if we ever made one but I forone dont have the time or energy anymore

FAQ would be nice, but still no one would use it. Just like the search now, no matter how many times you tell someone they just don't use it. They don't want to hear, "the answers are here, this is how you go about accessing them" Mentality of society these days as a whole I guess.

I'll just have to deal. Some days I'm at the breaking point, probably better to just log off. Keep up the good work Larry. :)
