I have two 10" neons mounted on the trunk cover and wired them to the - and + of my subs...Is this ok??

I wouldn't do that. Your amp is not a constant 12V supply. The current and voltage to the subs vary with the music. You run a high risk of damaging the transformer for the neon tube, the amp or the sub.

this would cause the neon to be parallel with the speaker. this will highly increase the overall current, and screw up your ohm load as well. (depending on the ohm rating of the neon, it could dramatically drop your ohm load) this could cause your amp to break. or blow up the neon.

very bad idea. they always say not to use different impedence speakers. this is like doing that times 10.

Well I DID have them hooked up to the negative and positive on my subs but now im just gonna hook it up one of the bulbs in my taillights...

I bought two little 9inch neons and mounted them on either side of the trunk just above the access panels....I used a relay that is turned on by the remote from the deck (same remote for the amp) and the 12v was supplied by an open port on my fuse block for my amp...I works nice, was a clean easy install and turns on with my sterio...I also put a small switch on the remote wire to the relay incase I ever want to just turn off the neons....

ive had mine hooked up similarly for over a year now. i have 2 9' neons mounted on the sides of the trunk and they are hooked up to my amp. the amp powers them and everything, but the volume needs to be pretty loud for them to flash really bright.

this is just the craziest **** i've ever heard. i'm really surprised the amp hasn't shorted out yet. its got to screw up the ohm load pretty bad.

I think (hope) he means that they are hooked up to the ground and the Remote connections on the amp...i dont think that they are hooked up to the speaker connections...then again....i am hoping that they are not.
I have my neon hooked to the remote for + and the ground for -. works fine and the neon is only on when the amp is.

i doubt it. he said the music has to be loud for them to be bright....
