I know this is hot topic on how this happens so i dont really want to go into that. My question is who has bought the syncro's and from where and how much. I am going to the dealer in about an hour to beg for forgiveness but if that doesnt work i will need to do it myself before i install my clutch and flywheel. Any info will help alot

Unless you have the right puller set and a press you might not wanna try this. Splitting the case and tearing the gears down to get to teh syncros is a pain and takes an experienced hand to get it right. You will be MUCH better off if you can convince the dealer to do this for ya.

I know this but in the military i am not rich and after talking to them they told me there is a 750.00 for them to take the tranny out and inspect it and if they find me at fault i will have to pay that much just for them to back together and more if they fix it.

If you have a good dealer they should do it under warranty. Just explain to them that you realize this car has been having issues with idiots misshifting but that you are not one of those people. You take care of your car, and you feel that if you can get this fixed your car will be perfect for the rest of it's life.

Why don't ya just head over to the motorpool and see if on of the base mechanics knows how to do it. I'm sure they have all the equipment and don't outsource transmission work.

i may have to try that at another dealer because my car already has a history at the one i went to.
