I didn't know if I should put this in OT because its not Celica related, but not sure about
"Other Models" because its not really discussion of a new vehicle.

Okay heres the thing. My mother died 2 years ago. Her best friend (Millie) has helped immensely
with the estate. In turn I have been helping Millie with all of her affairs(getting around, selling items,
running her to the hospital, etc..)
She is 83 and selling her home and in the process selling all of her vehicles except her Lincoln LS.
One of these vehicles is a Camaro.

Now with the exception of a 69' SS, I am really not a fan of the Camaro.
She wants me to help her sell it. What do you guys think would be a fair price.

Its a:

2002 35th Anniversary Edition Z-28
1 of 3000 made
T-Tops
315 HP 5.7 L (348 cu in) LS1 V8
Power everything
Leather
Anniversary badges
10 Spoke Stock alloys
Sunset Orange Metallic in color

and
Heres the kicker...
It has 242 miles on it

She originally bought it new off the showroom floor and never drove it. Its been sitting covered in a
heated garage for 6 years and I've changed the oil 3 times on it and we start it up every 2 weeks.

We called the original dealer and he said he would buy it back for $13,700 but it cost 27K new and
has 242 miles on it.
Kelly Blue Book has it for $17,800 but that really doesnt take into account the 242 miles.

I'm trying to help her and completely understand that I would have to find the right buyer
but what do you think its worth realistically?

heres a couple of pics. (these are not of the actual car, just to give you an idea) Looks just like this.

Help!?

Yeah I did that before I posted this thread. Thats why I came here.

Its the same damned price whether its 242 miles on it or 50,000.

I'm sorry 50K miles makes a huge difference with price.

I think you could sell it for 100 dollars.

I'll give you 200 hundred.

Why don't you post it somewhere for like 22k or something and see if anyone bites.

If not keep dropping the price every once in a while :shrugs:

You have to lose some since it is a few years old...

id say start it out high..im sure there are collectors out there who would want it..just gonna take time to sell it though

Oh.

Then why are you asking us?

Well, if kbb suggested 17K, then ask for 17K.

If you feel the 17K estimate doesn't reflect its value given the low mileage, try a higher value... see what the kbb difference is if you add 25K miles, add the difference to the price... this isn't rocket science... :D

My only other suggestion is to try and get a hold of the black book, which will have it's "true" value (less than kbb -- they tend to grossly overestimate the value).

find some camaro forums

but post it up on american muscle forums clubs and groups
best to start there
or do what someone suggested and put it up on e-bay for KBB price and see how high it goes

Frankly, I'd rather have 17 grand than a 6yr old Camaro.

There's a number of new cars coming out within the next few years that may or may not blow that car away, but they are surely more likely to be overall better pick ups, and the 17K would be a very nice down payment...

Don't forget, that particular camaro isn't all that great looking. It's like they took the blueprints for a bass boat and used it for this car.

I totally agree with you but unfortunately its not my car, I'm just helping her sell it.

I never looked at it like that but your right. Like I said I'd take a 67'-69 but not this.

Yeah I'm going to do that today with the forums. Then I'll approach her about e-bay. Anyone else heard of this "black book" jiltman is talking about?
