Ok, just dropped an Injen CAI into my 2002. Just curious if anyone is close with a Toyota employee or has any knowledge of the warrenty. Will this void it completely? I know they are all a-holes and if I bust a tailight they will try to blame the CAI but do you guys recommend swaping the air box everytime I visit the dealer?
most people concerned with their warranty do that i believe...

I just leave it in when I go to the dealership. Infact, a couple of the guys there think it's pretty sweet. Oh and as far as the warranty goes, don't let them push the blame for every problem on your mods. They HAVE TO PROVE that your mods are the problem before they send you the bill.

for it to void the warranty they must prove that there is a causal link between the mod and the problem
at least this is how it was told to me at the dealership
but this can be used against you.
any I / E mod changes the amount of air the car is taking in and or out. all the while keeping the same fuel curves.
they can link almost any engine problem to this and say "ur ****ed"
engine to kabloey? they can potentially say the air/fuel mixture was off due to the cai....and because of that you were running lean...and because of that....on&on&on
but bottom line. there needs to be a warranty related problem then further investigation.

Thanks for the info guys. Well, let's hope I won't have to visit the dealer anytime soon and my CAI keeps running sweet!
