I'm looking at new rubber soon (225/35R18) and want to know what the best brand/model there is out there for performance on wet/dry and also the best value for your money.
P.S. I'm not lucky enough to live in Cali so it should also perform well below 15 degrees C.

Does it need to perform well in the snow?
Bridgestone S-03
Yokohama AVS Sport
Michelin Pilot Sport
Pirelli P-Zero
Not sure if any of those come in your size, but those would all be at the top of my list (likely in that order).

For the money I would say Felken Azenis, otherwise Toyo Proxes T1-S has a little more dry grip than the S-03.

I won't be driving it in the snow so it doesn't have to be all season.
I want one with a good tread life too. I don't want to be having to replace them in at least 4 years.

4 years on a set of tires? Maybe if you drive 3000 miles/year...

I've been driving my car for 3 years now and I still have the stock rubber on.... If you don't drive the hell out of it it is possible. (32,000+ km's)

Sumitomo HTR ZII is a good tire with excellent traction for the money. Read the reviews

Well, 32k kilometers is what .. around 20k miles? That's about the rate that I go thru the ubiquitous Kumho 712s. So yeah I think you could get 3 years then without any trouble on a lot of tires, and 4 if you took it easy.

i have the sumitomos. They are the best for the money IMO. I had kumhos before, and now i have the sumitomos, and they blow the kumho away. I ot mine from tirerack.
i'm in the process of getting 225/35/19's for my car right now, and it's supposed to be one of the best tires you can get for the money.

TRASH! Paradas are for looks, not performance. Get Toyo T1-S if you want the best bang for the buck. I have S-03 Pole Positions myself.

Is that from experience? Or just from word of mouth?

I'd swear the S-03 PP's are quieter than the stock Yokos. BUT, I'd worn the Yoko's down so far they might have been noisier than usual.
YMMV...

Toyo T1-S are VERY quiet tires. Possible one of the most quiet MAXIMUM Performance tires out there.

Hey LoCore,
What size tyres are you running? It looks from your sig like you've got the stock GT-S rims.
I was told that S-03's would not be available in 205/50/16 - at least in Australia. Isn't that the size that the US GT-S runs?
The guy at Bridgestone Australia suggested that I try GIII tyres instead. He said that they were almost as good as S-03's but are more suitable to daily driving (ie. quieter and last longer). They are going to be available in my size.

Matty P, try tirerack.com. You can get the S-03's for like $130 a piece in 205-50-16.
