10. Infiniti G35/37
9. Mazda MX-5
8. MINI Cooper S
7. Nissan GT-R
6. Cadillac CTS
5. Audi R8
4. Honda Fit
3. BMW 3-Series
2. Chevy Corvette/Z06/ZR1
1. Mazda Mazda3/MazdaSpeed3
My takes?
G35 is a great car, does what it should and costs less. Its a bit raw but I don't mind that.
MX-5 is the best price/value/fun/reliability/fuel efficiency factor on the planet. Hands down. Its a delightfully little car and you'd be hard pressed to find a car that balances everything like this one does and delivers time and time again.
Mini Cooper is like the Miata in that sense, albeit a bit overpriced - it shows small cars CAN be premium and fun.
I don't give a crap about the GT-R. I've never driven one and never will.
My dad has a CTS. I love it. Its his Jew Canoe. It has tons of power, acceptable handling but trades those off for some numbness - which is actually perfect for his 60 year old crowd. Plus its a value, like the G35. He actually chose the Caddy over the G35 because the interior is just awesome, bravo GM. And the car has a road presence.
I don't give a crap about the R8. I've never driven one and never will.
THE FIT IS GO!!!!!!!!!
The 3-series does everything so perfectly - but with no passion. Its the German, RWD Camry on technological overload. Go on, I DARE you to figure out how to start the car, set the radio, turn on the AC and get going in under 5 minutes if its your first time inside of one.
The Corvette is what GM should do with every car - endlessly refine and improve, and retain the equity of the name and heritage. Still, I don't have enough chest hair or gold chains to rock one.
Mazda 3 is probably one of the best econoboxes out there. I'll admit it, its better than the base Civic. I actually prefer the base Mazda 3 to the MazdaSpeed 3 because its fun, doesn't feel like a minivan (like the Speed), its inexpensive (but not cheap) and gets great gas mileage.
