here's the deal, i got the greddy sc in hand..looking to buy the NST pulley which is 3.1", then on top of that i'm also getting Boe Fab idler pulley which is bigger then the greddy one..dunno by how much..my question is, has anyone gone this route?? if so, wat belt size did u use?? some said to use 2465mm belt size with the nst pulley but that's w/out boe fab's idler pulley..
help me figure this out please..
thanks

bump..
anyone?? phil from boefab said i should try a belt with 1" shorter then the greddy one..seeing how the greddy pulley is 3.4" and NST is 3.1"..dunno the different b/n the greddy idler and boefab's idler..

It probably negates itself.. Being the NST pulley is 3.1 and a larger Idler pulley..
I'd buy multiple belts.. whichever is the smallest one you can fit.. return the rest..

makes me wonder if it's even worth it to get boefab's idler pulley or not..if it's negates itself and doesn't yield any benefit, aside from the lifetime warranty and higher quality part of course..

umm, I'm strictly talking about belt size.. Because you're going smaller on one, and going larger on the other..
The BOE idler pulley is worth it..

thing is, when u said a couple..i don't even know where to begin..get one with 1in shorter, the other with 1.25, 1.5..at which increment would be good to use??
i'm thinking just get the complete package from boefab, brackets and all..comes out to around 370shipped i think..but the lifetime warranty is nice..

try a 2inch shorter belt.. get half inch increments.. return the ones that dont fit or are too long..
its not rocket science.. :) grab a bunch whichever fits and return the rest! :D

the belts are sold in half inch sizes but i would just try the belt with the kit. I have the same set up and i got a .5 inch smaller belt than what comes with the kit on but i think i am going to get a size bigger. From experience with the same set up i say use the greddy kit belt and the BOE pulley is far better than the greddy one. I spun that thing apart in the first month under 1000 miles. Good luck.

^^^sweet..thanks..that's wat i needed..someone that have the same setup..so u think u'll switch to the belt that is .5inch bigger then the greddy belt??
let me know how that work out or the part number u end up getting..i want to make sure i get the correct one..

problem is the tensioner is different from car to car.. I've put on a belt that is a full inch shorter on one car than another.. I'll say it again, buy a much smaller belt, and increments larger.. Whichever is the smallest one that fits keep.. Nothing worse than sticking one on, to find out it gets loose when it warms up later on..

gotcha...thought the tensioner is all the same for the celi..didn't think they would be different..ok i'll stop annoying you guys now and go buy a bunch of different size belt..starting with the greddy belt and work my way back to 2.5in and 1 full size bigger then the greddy..
that should be plenty then enough to get it to work..
thanks
i probably won't get a chance to get this install until i order all my parts and get it done all the same time. still looking into getting exhaust done, then wideband O2 kit, then boe's bracket kit...after all that, THEN i'll get it all install..
would it be a good idea to get new oxygen sensors?? i know the 2nd one i would have to do the defouler or MIL to get rid of the CEL since i'm going catless..but wat about the pre-cat.??? my car just hit 90k..sux.. :O(

the tensioners are the same.. some are just "stronger" than others..

I'd like +1 everything Choi said here... On the Lotus (I imagine similar logic applies to the Celica), the larger pulley in combination with a 3.2" pulley ends up needing the same belt. Drop down to a 3.1" pulley and you'll need atleast a .5" shorter belt and possibly a 1" shorter belt. At the end of the day, just buy 3 belts, -.5, -1, -1.5 and return the ones you don't use. You want to use as much of the tensioner as possible, i.e. use the shortest belt you can get on the car ---without breaking somethin of course;)
Best,
Phil
