Jesus...

I had a girl in my back seat the other day.... (Ummm no) anyway, she noticed that no sound was coming out of my rear speaker... I had a "pro" install my stereo and they phucked all kinds of stuff up...(didn't even hook up passenger rear speaker) so I tear everything apart and do it myself. Right now Im running both my front high and front mid-range running off the same channel... This is ok right...? My deck is a 50x4 so I wound think enough power is there. I just want make sure it's safe. Basicly, I have both pos and both neg of each set of speakers spliced together...

Thanks

That would mean that you are running them in parrallel. I can't remember the conversions, but I believe you are actually dropping the ohm load... This can be bad on your head unit. Maybe not though. I don't know the impedence for the speakers. The more common way is to wire them in series. Deck to Pos. on one set, Neg-> pos on second set Neg back to the deck.

Just left a detailed description in post "Do I need an Amp?"

parallel = bad 2 ohms.
series = bad 8 ohms.

2 ohms to a head unit is not a real good idea. and i just don't understand why you need to do that anyway. do it right. read the manual see what ohms it can take.
