Euro Celicas and US Celicas have differences in there suspension.
Due to this fact a lot of people ordering staff from US (including me), end up with "useless" suspension parts.

I was wondering whether anyone of you guys, could take some measurements of the US front and rear Shock absorbers. I am considering to order KYB GR-2 but first I need to make sure that will fit mu Euro Celica.

Here I have a pic of my rear Euro Shock absorber, including the asking measurements. Please include the front sh.abs measurements as well, if possible.

In Europe:
A = 45mm
B = 58mm
C = 55mm
Forgot to take D, and I did not have the proper tool to measure E.
Unfortunately my front sh.abs are currently installed on my celi.

Once I ll get your measurements I will immediately remove my front sh.abs and let you know for the rest Euro/US differences

AFAIK, when shopping for spring.

Front springs and shocks between audm (same as euro?) and usdm are the same. However, audm rear springs and shocks are bigger than usdm springs and shock. Therefore when buying rear springs from usa, we need to modify the springs to make it wider to fit.

So to make it clear...
I can remove the Euro stock shock absorbers, and change them with US ones, eg.KYB GR-2. Right? (and use US springs ofcourse)

NEW INFO:
Front shock absorbers are the same for every Gen 7 Celica, inspite of country of origin.

European, Australian and maybe Canadian Celica rear shock absorbers are the same with USA if production date is till 10/99

NOW,
people from USA, please help me out here, and let me know about measurement of AT LEAST labels C and E for rear shock absorbers (picture above)

I have already contacted KYB USA, KYB UK, TOYOTA USA, TOYOTA UK and nobody is willing/able to help.
Please help me out. It takes only 1-2 minutes of your quality time if you have a rear shock absorber available

I might still have my stock struts/shocks in the garage somewhere. If I do, I will gladly measure them for you and post my findings for you.

^^^^ eXCELLENT!!!
Just to save you some time: front US shocks are the same with euro, so measurements of front shocks can be omitted.
Only rear shocks are in question

BTW,
I am almost done with my research and the last piece should be given by a US citizen.
Today I had some quality info from Toyota Cyprus but at the end of the discussion I got: "if you take the risk, your qs will be answered. I don't think that anyone will be able to help you unless you manage to get both shocks in your hands. According to my experience it should work....". (this answer was given when I asked whether US shocks fit EURO celicas if I have US springs as well - euro springs do not fir US shocks)

I made the drive last weekend and measured the rear shocks while I was there.
From a 2000 (48530-2B760) and a 2003 (48530-2B830) the dimensions were the same.
A=38mm
B=50mm
C=54mm
D=40mm
and E=480mm.
The inner diameter of the small end of the spring is only 52mm. It just fits over the B=50mm.

Damn, I could not expect a better answer!!!!!!!!!!!
I got more than I was expected, EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My KYBs are on their way (I hope).
The only difference btw US and Euro are parts A and B ------> spring insert.
That is, a US suspension will fit a European Celica.
Funny thing..... toyota and kyb do not recommend it.

WTF, why is that?

I say BS

Hi, i'm from Australia, my question is which JIC will fit my 00 celica. Currently, i'm using the AGX(US) + S-tech(Euro). They seem to fit perfect with these combo. But i think JIC has both US and Euro ver.

I don't think S-tech has a euro version. I went to the UK Tein site and the springs are notably not listed.
...
Well, they have something. "TBA"

>>CELICA ZZT231 99+ S.TECH SP T.B.A.
>>CELICA ZZT231 99+ BASIC SA QSY28-CVSS2

Any reasoning behind this?
