whats up...me and Blue Bomber today were going to get my oil changed and we passed a honda dealership so we diecided to go take a close up look at the new civic Si .... well we ended up test driivng it wiht this really cool salesman that was like 28 yrs old and didnt care what we did to the car..first off he drove it off the lot to show us what he can do with it...i mean oit seemed to have a little bit of torque on the low end but once u got upo to the high rpms it opretty much dies..well anyway to start off the salesman basically dropped the clutcxh comin out of the parking lot and smoked the tires rigfht till redloine and chirped second pretty hard...then aftyer minutes of this guy beating on this car for us he told me to drive...so he told me to just basically (for lack or better words) beat the sh!t outa this car with aboiut 6 miles on it..so i did....btw i have no intension of buying one..i just wanted to see what the big deal was with these cars....well anyway this car is not a big contender anymore stock in the import scene ..untill maybe about 6 months from now when they havew huge after market for it...well this car off the line wasnt bad ..but i am pretty sure that a celica gt stock could pulkl pretty hard on a new Si .. the car handled like it looks..big and bulky and like it was a tiny mini van....well it leaned too much in the turns...and basically this car freakin sux bad compared to the last gen Si..i dont know what the hell those honda engineres were thinkin when they designed this car....well it is ugly as sh!t and the driving position felt like i was driving an SUV...i hate the shifter placement...i'd probably take a stupid focus SVT over this car anyday...
well then after talkin with the salesman for a little more and showing him my car he decided to try and get me to buy an S2000 ..well this was the highlightr of my day..he told me to test drive and brand new S2000 that he had there becasue he had never driven one himself..well againm he told me to beat the heck outa this brand new car witha bout 3 miles on it....FYI i am only 20 years old..i didnt thinjk in a million years a salesman would let me drive an S2000..well anyway this car is amazing....that 9300 rpm fuel cutoff is great and the shifter is silky as ummm.(insert your own dirty word) well anyway after he told me to pass the dealership and keep going with this car..he was teling me to get on it opretty hard to see what that thing can do and this car moves...it handeld excellent and drove really smoothe on the highway and still handeld like a finly tuned sports car.... at 6000 rpm the lift doesnt really kick in like the celica's buit it is there a little biut hat u can feel..it gets up to sped pretty quick..i got it up to 115 and the salesman was lovin it...blue bomber was man becasue he had to sit in the dealership and watch me have fun because its only sa 2 seater...thre salesman told chris to come back and test drive it another time...lol this day was great...basically civic Si= old honda ideas from 1976 and S2000= amazing finely tuned sports car...i've driven alot of top end sports car like lotus esprit's and ferraris..and this car definitely didnt feel like it had that $32,000 price tag on it...
well sorry for the long story but i am just amazed why this salesman let me drive any car i wanted to on the lot...maybe becasue i told him that i would be paying in cash...oh yeah he took me for a ride in one of those hybrid cars too..they are really cool....i think id rather have one of those instead of the Si....my advise..dont even look at the new Si's and take any chance u get to drive an S2000....
sorry this is soo long...

haha, every time i go to try to drive an S2000 they tell me that i have to fill out a credit check, blah blah blah.
i havent tried since my car was pretty stock so i should try now.
just pull up in the gts and be like can i drive an S2000???
anyway, i went and drove a rsx-s a while back and they people were like just take it for a drive alone.
they gave me the keys and i went out with it by myself.
that was pretty cool...

I'd rather get a Spec V or Matrix.

yeah yo just tell them you are paying cash..thats whati did..i tolkd him i paidf cash for my celica..(which i really did) and he was lookin at all the mods and rims and kit and all that and was like well "sir" which cars would u lie ot test drive next..i pointed to the S2000 as a joke and he was like ok let me get the keys...lol...my mouth dropped...another funny time when i was really lookin foir cars before the celi i test drove a miata and the guy was treally fat so he said that he hated getitjng in and out of litle car so he told us to take it alone..and we rioppd the hell outa it...then we test drove a brand new top of the line miata..and i did a dougnut in the middle of this intersection with it....didnt really wana go all the way aroiund just tried to drift a little bit and it got away from me so i just kept it and turened it into a doughnut and then drove off like nothing happened...

my freind's dad has a ferrari and one time he went on vacatio and me and him took it out and went to an exotic car dealership with it and told them that we wanted to trrade it in and thye let us test drive everything from newer ferraris to lotus' and porshces and a new at the time NSX..it was the best day of my life....i got to drive an F355 spyder with the F1 style shifters...

Hey ghostface, this is a little off topic, but how do you like your Tenzo R's? Does it slow you down a lot?

nope not at all..i think they are the same weight or a little lighter by like a pound or too..than the stock 15's but i got them to be the same exact diameter as stock with my 40 series tires and it didnt effect any perfornace at all

i like it alot

my freidn has a rsx-s with I/E and 18's and my car was fgaster when it was stocki becasue of his huge ass 18's and he has SSR comps...which are light as hell to begin with....
check my pics to see both cars

I know what ya mean about the S2000. The clutch wasn't my favorite but man O man they did right by that shifter (insert heavy panting here). Unfortunately it lacked power and braking to suit my tastes, although it did handle reasonably well. Course I only got it for a couple hours. We rented it for a company function for a couple of days and a couple managers and VPs kept snagging it to bring home at night the bastages ;)

I am not too impressed by the S2000's shifting. The clutch feel sucked too, whether that's because I am used to the Celica, I don't know, but I've always like the short, quick engaging clutch. I also think the Celica's 6spd felt just as good as the S2000.
Handles great though, but now I understand why Spyder owners are so against the 2ZZ in the MR2. The cam switch is terrible around a turn on a RWD car. I spun the damn S2000 out hitting it in 2nd, and the car could've taken the turn much faster than 40mph. Lastly, it didn't feel any faster than the Celica either. Overall, I was unimpressed because of all the f'in hype it gets, although I would still love to have one.
