What's up?

My name is Jerry, and I am the proud owner of a 2000 Celica GT, I got the car last week from the original owner the car is in excellent condition with only 80K miles. She took great care of the car with regular maintenance and not a lot of miles, the car is bone stock and I would like to add some performance mods just to start, like headers, exhaust, air intake. Is it true the stock header is not bad at all? Any help is greatly appreciate it, this is my first car, because I have owned just trucks in the past, and I wouldnt like to ruin the car with the wrong mods or make it really noise. Thanks:o::o:

Welcome, congrats on the car.
I would suggest starting out with exhaust/intake mods. As far as your header is concerned your best option is to get the stock one ported by Boosted 2.0. Aftermarket headers are pretty expensive.
Oh, and you might find this link useful in choosing an exhaust.

is it stick? if so, bolts on wouldn't help much either way. If you want real power from a gt your going to have to go F/I or swap to a gt-s. Those bolt-ons are maby going to only give around 10 whp tops all together (just guessing but it wouldn't be alot).

Yeah, it's a stick 5 speed! What's F/I? May be I would add an intake for now, but which one there are many tales surrounding the intake factor. As for muffler would a magnaflow 24 inch fit? If so would it be noisy? More than anything I am looking for a nice sporty sound.

What's F/I?
Forced induction, and as for intakes there is short ram intake(1-3 gain) or cold air (4-6 gain) roughly

welcome to the fourms. i also did not know wut F/I stood for and now i noe, magnaflow isnt noisey its more of a deep sound, TRD muffler is also a good one, its a sport muffler. im not sure about the fitting for the magnaflow.

nitrous or turbo for horsepower

the car responds very well to simple suspension mods as well - I suggest either springs and shocks or coilovers if you can afford them.

i/e/h just simple bolt ons.

If you have money turbo is the way to go.

Just sipmle stuff as suspension upgrades and some nice tires.

i/e/h is a start. since urs is a 2000 gt i suggest for u to check ur oil regularly. some 00-02 gt have oil consumption problems.

i/e/h will get him about as fast as a stock 08 Civic sedan, and cost him several hundred dollars - waste of money IMO.

Go FI or go home if you're serious about going fast - or get a different car.

kyb agx's /w springs. add hotchikins sway bars, and the feeling is awesome. i did it to my car and i could zoom outta off ramps on the highway at 75-80. no body roll at all.

if u were gonna spend money on a 8 yr old car, i'd just go for apperance mods. maybe exhaust and intake. add some suspension, bodykit, sounds. haha. jus saying IMO. dont spend more on performance, unless u really want a race car. if its a daily driver, just go for some nice appearance mods. you'll still turn heads. well at least in hawaii we dont have a race track on our island, so its not like we can race anyways, and street racing is a no no! jus my opinion.

yup

most people underestimate how much fun a good suspension is

makes a way bigger difference than 10 extra hp from $1500 worth of bolt-ons.
