Went for some test drives this Wednesday. 02 Maxima SE 6 sp., 02 Z28 4sp. auto (didn't have a 6 sp.), and a 02 Mustang GT 5 sp.

The straight line in the Z28 was awesome, but the interior was ugly as sin, and the handling wasn't there, either. Felt heavy after driving my GTS around. The GT seemed to handle just a tiny bit better, but didn't seem to have the torque of the Z28, even in manual trim. I do like the new gun-metal alloy rims, though. And my favorite of the day: the Maxima. Man, those things are schweet! It felt faster than the GT in the straight, was 10x more comfortable and quiet, and seemed to handle almost as good. I had never driven one before, but now I want one. Those cars are schweet! The dealership is getting five 350z's in by August. They say there gonna mark 'em up $2k, but they say most dealerships are gonna put a $5k tag on top of the sticker. It had better really impress me to beat out the Maxima. One thing I've noticed: When I take my wife's Oddesey around to dealerships, the salesman are so-so cooperative. But when I pull up in my GTS, they bend over backwards to get me to test drive something, and don't care how hard I get on it. Strange!?

I am a Maxima fan also. The exterior styling doesn't say much, but I love the VQ engine, interior, quiet ride, and decent handling. Another adavantage of the Maxima is that the dealers are usually pretty willing to deal on them also, as most people look only at the Accord and Camry in that class.

Ugh, people really only look at the Accord and Camry in that class? I've been in a new Camry and a new Maxima; the Camry hardly compares. Never been much of an Accord fan.
