I read the install on painting our headlight housing bezel, I like the idea. But, I would rather have tinted ones like the TRD's. So I think this is how it could be done.
1. Remove the lights per the install.
2. Mask off the upper side that's facing the outside of the light assembly, mainly the front facing edges & reflector (which stays in).
3. Use vht nightshade (or something similar, but not paint) to lightly tint the inside/underside of the bezel.
4. Since the bezel is clear plastic, it & the vht should allow some light to pass through ,therefore, the bezel should only be tinted & not just painted.
I'm gonna experiment with some different materials I have lying around & maybe try this next week. If it doesn't work I'm still painting mine from underneath, that way no flaws will be visible & it will still give the bezel a false translucent appearance. If I don't use the vht, I'm going with a very very dark smoke gray.
