Due to my order kept on getting messed up at AFS, Shawn at AFS gave me a deal for me to change my order to 18" instead of waiting on my 17". Now, I kind of hesitated because I've heard that 18" rims will greatly decrease ur performance as in whole. I still went and got the 18" instead and they will be here next week. So, how much of performance am I going to lose once I put 18" vs putting on 17".
17" weighed roughly 17lbs and 18" at 19lbs..... without tires....
i forgot the rims offset... i believe it was 35mm and i am gettin 225/40/18... how does that gonna affect my gap and would dat rub against my wheelwells?

I just got my 18's yesterday, and I couldn't tell much of a difference at all. Nothing tested, just normal driving, I didn't see a difference. Also, mine do not rub. Hope this helps.

I noticed a Difference. I am going back down to 17" TRD T3 wheels.

It really depends on the weight of the wheel too. Some 18's can be a lot heavier than others. I like my Racing Harts. They aren't that heavy.

Unless you get leight weight racing wheels like SSR, OZ, or Rota Subzeros...dont gets 18s, they WILL slow your car down dramatically...I choose to go all show, a little go and got 18s...didnt realize how heavy they were though, slowed my 1/4 mile by 6 tenths of a second!...wish i had gone with a leight weight wheel...I think 17s are right for your car though, I got 18s because my car has a huge wheel well and 17s are too small...im sure some people have 18s here maybe even 19s...but I think 17" is the ideal size for your car...get a 2" drop and a nice body kit and they will look nice as hell

I don't think it will be that dramatic. And if you are going to get any rim for looks, then you are obviously not in it for performance, because 15" wheels would be the best for our car. I would go for the 18's, as long as they aren't too heavy.

hey CelicaNamja79 i got the same rims in gunmetal 18''. they arent on my car yet, but they dont seem too heavy if i carry them by hand hehe. probably in a month or so ill have them on. 19lbs doesnt seem too bad i guess. i was thinking 21lbs and above would be way too heavy..
