I'm thinking about buying a sri. I've read good things and bad things about them for the celica. Should I get one? Is it worth it? Do you regret putting one on your car for any reason? Once again, thanks in advance.

Its your car you have to make the final decisions, nobody here is going to be driving your car every day. Nobody here is paying for your bills, your insurance or your gas. I would get one though I mean why not? I have a cai and I am happy with mine and I think it was worth getting one, so far I have no regrets, but then again the choice is yours.

i like the idea of a sri, mainly because they are almost impossible to hydrolock (unless you hit a huge puddle). get a good one, i think one of them comes with a heat shield (maybe injen? not too sure)

I want one, yes, but my biggest concern is the bogging issue some people tend to get.

i dont regret mine, i have a KN no bogging and no cel codes
you lose some low end power but you get it back and then some at the higher rpm ranges.
plus it looks cool so why not. i didnt notice more torque with my stock air box but that was only at low rpms.

The K&N is the one I've been looking at (I work at autozone; can you say discount?) I'm gonna do it, why not?

do it, i have a k&n sri as well. just make sure u get a heatshield.
SRI should be renamed HAI - hot air intake.
In fact if you talk to the guys at Hondata they recommend going with a stock intake over an SRI (CAI is best) on almost any car.

SRI is for engine dress up and sound. i have injen sri and honestly got it for those reasons above anything else.guess im nervous about CAI although half the people say its no biggie and need to sink car in water to really get into trouble.kinda on the fence with it.

Get an SRI only if you are worried about hydrolocking with a CAI.

I'm not worried about hydrolocking it, I'm just trying to figure out if a cai will fit the auto gt

Yes it will. They are model specific.

sri all theway...and some have more hp increase but it depends on the engine.aem RECOMMENDS getting an sri for civics and such because gains are higher than their brand of cold air intakes....

^x2, i got my sri for the sound, and because of the whole hydrolocking issue. of course, now that it isnt going to rain for two weeks, my aem cai is coming out of hiding... :)

i have a injen cai worth it... check out the for sale section if you decide on getting one.
if you have some mechanical knowhow you can build your own CAI and be assured that it will fit.
It might not look pretty but it will be effective.
One of my favorite things to do is remove a fog light and cram the air filter right in there to get a ram air effect.

No site I looked at list any CAI as manual only. Just model specific from GT to GTS.
