I'm painting the plastic pieces inside my engine bay, and it looks pretty good so far, but I'm stuck on that piece which says "Do Not Remove". It's located behind the battery. Is it safe to remove and what's under it?

(searched but found nothing on this forum)

Thanks in advance

Thats the ECU. It's safe to remove the cover, dont worry about it.

THanks a lot. Nothing's gonna pop out of there right? No wires loose or anything, correct? And will the dealer say anythign about this if there's any warranty work done on my car? Especially if it's on the ECU? will they care that I removed the ECU cover and painted it?

Calsoldier, nothing will pop out of there. The dealer cannot legally deny you warrenty work for just painting the ECU cover. The ECU hasn't been tampered with in any way, the cover has just been removed, painted, and put back in its place. If you removed the cover, left it off for a week while you were painting it, and got water/dirt in there while you were driving around, they could deny you warranty repaires if the ECU broke from that, but removing the cover in itself will not void your warrenty, even though it says "do not remove"
