I've seen some Celica's with their taillights all redded out, no white showing at all. is this legal? I'm working on a new Overlay for the TYC's and I was thinking of redding out the backup light.

No, I believe DOT needs the reverse lights to be white.

if a cop ever pulls you over tell them you hear something comming from the back of his car and when they walk away peel off the red really fast:)

I know some people like the all redout look. I was just wondering about legality. I know 4b's got his all redded out.

I thought there were some cars on the market that had no white in their taillights, mainly some of the domestic SUV's. Expedition perhaps? I don't remember seeing the white on those tails...I don't know I could be wrong.

With the already limited rearward visibility in the 7th gen, I have to question the safety of redding out the backup lights.
I know that when I`m backing up at night, I want all the light I can get.
If you ever backed into something (or someone!) at night and the victims lawyer discovers you have redded out backup lights that are not stock, you would be screwed!
Besides, think of it this way: Your backup lights match you front clear corners! :D

I just finished my TYC Taillight Overlay Kit:). I altered the look of the backup light, and I think looks much better. Goes with the design of the taillight itself. I'll post pics tomorrow;).

Some of the backup lights are red.... but at night when they are lit... it's white... the red color is very light red..
I believe some of the accord has red back up light which turns white when they are lit....

Accord/Civis back up lights are lightly red tinted...
I've verified with my friend's civic....
It's red tinited but when it's lit... it's white......
But if you make too red then it's gona lit red I guess....
