are they neons or leds? i am running 2 optima yellow tops and stock alternator (will change it soon) running 2 1300w sub amps and 500w comp amp, under lighting kit, ranodm leds, and full car computer no problem. I can run everything off of the 2 batteries at shows for a little while with no power drains.

when installing my chrome under suspension we left my under lighting leds on for 12 hours while working on the car. didn't have a working shop light so used the underlighting to work on the car :)

Hmm.. I know my lights dim when I get really close to maxing out my sub volume. How much difference will a yellow top make with a stock? how much do they run, pricewise?

Sorry for the double post,

but I was thinking about getting the Multi LED. Does either system take less power?

ooo you are on stock battery still? get a yellow top and you will have no worries. i killed my stock where it would not charge anymore. if you get led it will take less power then neons

How much do those cost? Should I get one now or wait til my walmart dies?

Do you think I can add one more power consumer (being the underglow) to my car?

I may need a new battery to ....I leave my car park for 2 days and when i start it again it cranks longer and you can hear less power cranking the engine..maybe my sound system is draining my battery life

you should be fine if the underglow is led. if neon then probably ditch the walmart bat now

For suree, how hard is underglow installation?

all depends on the kit. different kits require different amount of work. normally need small drill bit, self tapping sheet metal screws. can wire it right to the bat if it has an internal fuse.

Awesome thanks, is there a difference between red vs yellow top? Ive heard that red tops are more designed for performance.. is that true?

the yellow top is more deep cycle as in if you have a stereo it will hold its voltage longer on a heavier load, but for just the minimal usage of what you would be using either would be good but im sure whomever you talk to, to buy from will give ya more details

adding to what woody already said: red is more of a standard yet high performing battery. its not a gel based which yellow is. because of that yellow wont leak, will sustain significant more shock and can be mounted in any direction

for large power audio/lighting yellowtop is where its at :)

Hmm, so why would someone get a red top? They need a lot of power at a single time?

Im definitely going to go with a yellow top, but Im just interested =)

red top i think has higher cranking amps which is better for performance engines that dont really need constant high current pulls that audio needs

What brand is your underglow? is there a big difference between streetglow vs others?

hombredelassrta

as long as its leds it will run less power then others. i have streetFX Colorstorm but wouldnt recommend it. too expensive for what you get. i got it for free or else i would have gone with something else
