before i bought my car the guy that sold it to me told me that they hopped over the apartmens whr he lives and they tagged all over the cars.. on my side of the door the carved it NSLA (NORTH SIDE LOS AN.) anyways the guy try fixing it but he got the wrong paint:AF: so my question is what can i do bout dis?

yea dude he already had it on when i bought it.. you cant really see it unless u come close but you know.. it bothers me :(

You can:

1. Get a brand new paint job from a shop.

2. Buy one of those paint marker type of things in the correct color from the dealer. They're usually used for small chips and scratches.

You can't paint over letters with touch up paint, or any other paint for that matter.

The only way to do it right will be to repaint the entire door.

On the other hand, did you buy the car knowing the paint match was off? If so, the only thing you can do is getting it repainted by a local shop. Why is this so difficult again?

To the OP: What the hell were your plans when you bought it. You knew it was painted with the wrong color. What did you plan on doing?

Just get the door repainted at Maaco or some place like that. If they do whole cars for $500 (last I heard, but I'm sure it's not the best quality), it couldn't cost too much for just a door.

how much does it cost to repaint a door? just curious cause my friend has a nasty key mark from the front pasenger door to the back door and was looking to repaint his 05 maxima.

Hmm, I think its anywhere from $250 to $600.

It will depend on if its stock paint, how deep the scratch is, etc.

starting to wonder if it's just cheaper to pick up 2 doors off a junk yard lol. it's a bit deep.. scratch removers dun work, so maybe some touch up paint might, but we never done it before.

you can have the bodyshop match the paint, theyll blend the paint where you cant even tell it was repainted,

a few months ago some punk kids were tagging street signs, they saw my car and decided to paint a smiley face on the driver side door.

yea i did its werid the guy was asking for 6300 n i thought it was a dealer so i called n said i had 4500 cash n he said no da he was a private seller n called me bout 3 min after n told me if i wanted it to give him the $ n he be coo so he brought it to me n i fell in love with it lol i got it with 103005 so its ok.. any opinions?

look for a used door lol.. i see it once in a while on the forum that someone's selling a door. that or repainting it.. whatever u find cheaper.

i dont tink if its a sway bar.. but its the one that is under the hood.. on top of the struts? i tink...

:laugh: Then it's a strut bar.

You should stiffen up the rear of the car first before doing the front. Front wheel drive cars already has enough understeer :ugh:

If you want better handling I would go with either a TRD three point rear strut bar, or Hotchkis Competition sway bars (it comes in a set of front and rear, I only have the rear installed on mine and I like it this way :) )

The TRD bar is probably around $130-ish I believe.

I forget the price on the set of sway bars, it's like either $200 or $300, I can't remember.

I think there's a 3 point from some company called Hypermotive? I'm not exactly sure of the name though, but it's a three point bar.

The difference between that and the TRD one is that the Hypermotive one's bars are removable from the ends, whereas the TRD is a single welded unit.

I never read anything about the removable bars having a negative impact on the bar's overall performance but then again I didn't bother researching about it.
