View Full Version : New tranny = new gear/shift gate locations?

It feels like the shift gates are wider apart now :marky: ....after 8yrs on my old tranny, does this mean i have to break this 1 in too?? I love my old shift gates/locations :faint:

Im assuming your car is a 2000 which means ur tranny had the narrower shift gates... they changed them at one point because so many people miss shifted their cars... no they wont change :(

This can not be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :wtc: I know that they made wider gates but it can not be this wide. Ive driven other celicas and they do not have such a wide shift gate :confused:

He's right Mike. That's how all the trannies are now. I still don't know if I have the narrow or wide ones. Mine's a late model '01. They made the change right around that time.

you have the narrow shift gates joe. If you drive mine, you will see the difference :faint:

driving the wider gates are a PITA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
