Was looking on ebay and found this, not sure if its BS or would help? Because at about 70 - 80mph the wipers have some resistance on the way back down.

i wouldn't. if you think about it, how much do u use your wipers at 70-80 mph? the wind take the water off the windshield. i would just looks for some silicone inserts to the ones you already have, silicone is way better than rubber

Also RainX is awesome... specially if you get the additative to the window washer fluid... works well =)

Just for the record the wipers come on a lot at 70 - 80 particularly between October and Marchish lol the wind just turns it into mad tunnel vision, what are silicone inserts?

Also RainX is awesome... specially if you get the additative to the window washer fluid... works well =)

^ saw something like that at work but a customer bought the last bottle :(

that rainx looks crap.

Lex_2k
10-17-2008, 11:55 AM
^ yeah seriously you guys underestimate how much it rains here lol

hey i'd rather buy rainx and find out it doesnt work than buy the wipers and find the same thing, rainx doesnt then become a part of the car lol

When I get around that speed I do not even use wipers, they get blown off my windshield. As long as it is not raining too hard, but then how hard does it rain in So Cal :chuckles:

I had RainX wipers and they're horrible.

I used it for one storm and the next time I decided to use them (like a few months later) they don't even wipe clean

What is wrong with OEM toyota wiper blades? I don't I've come across any other brands that even compete against them ... clean well, quiet, takes a lot before they rust.
If you really want quality, when you order the wiper blades / inserts, try to insist on getting the ones made in Japan ... you will know because the label or box will be all written in Japanese..

thank you righty!!!

I am not talking about the rainx wipers just the actual fluid. It can come in either a mixture to be added to a gallon of windshield wiper fluid and presto it becomes rainx wiper fluid or you can buy the spray and just spray it on and then wipe it in.

Basically what this stuff does is it causes the water to become large bubbles. Now i know you guys live in the UK meaning that you would just have to apply it more often then those that dont have it rain to often because it does wear out over time. The nice part about the windshield wiper additive is that whenever you use windshield wiper fluid it applys a new layer to the windshield =) (and with celicas we can also apply it to the hatch :wiggle: )

Now I absolutely swear by the stuff. I get on a back road and I am doing 40 in complete downpour (and I mean a downpour where other drivers are pulling over because of the rain) and I can continue as if it is clear as day without using my wipers. On the highway its even better, doing 80 on the highway again same scenario dont have to use wipers and the fluid dynamics of air on the car cause the rainx to be wisked away. Next time it rains and I am in the car I will take a video to show you guys what i am talking about. Also when you do have to use your wipers (because your not going fast enough) it leaves the window clear and streak free ;)

Hope this helps...

heres the spray for you UK folk...

Just used it on my car and I can see my reflection off my window ;)

and i cant currently find the wiper fluid additive on ebay but i do know it exists ( GF just bought some and did it for her)

I've got the wipers in the link, though mine were made by Valeo. Got em on sale from Tire Rack (http://www.tirerack.com/accessories/brands/valeo.jsp) a year and a half ago, since my wipers were rusted. They work. Yup. Not much else to say, since they're just wipers. ;) They definitely don't stick out like stock, though, much more low key, but.. they're still wipers.

i hardly use my wipers when i got this stuff on. rain just rolls off like a ball. u can see clearly. and if u use wipers with this on. its almost makes 0 difference. people should try it. the wipers might suck but this **** is awesome.

Whatever dude we've got green celicas lol is the best I can think of. If you ever see a really really sunburnt guy in a silver celica in CA you better run lol

Wakerider, you legend. I'm gonna look for the additive as soon as I get home, I use windowlene on my windows lol makes them clear as anything but wears off after like a week. Do like those wipers though, look a lot more subtle than stock.

I got the same (about 2 years ago), but here in Europe they are made by BOSCH.

They are much better then the original wipers.

Trico Neoforms are just as good as the Bosch Icons and cost less. Also pick up some Rain-X washer fluid. That **** works great, don't even have to use wipers when your driving.

Thanks! I'm a huge fan of them, they're the best wipers I've had by far. I got these from tire rack too. I just need to replace the rear one, because it's the original wiper that came with the car and it's starting to fall apart.

Man, I think you're right. I gotta check that out, haha.
