I don't remember exactly how long we were at the beach (definitely after 3pm), but we left the bars in Seaside at 9pm for Bernardsville...that was an f'n blast. Awake status may have ended at 1-2am.

43 Definites...yeah right. There maybe was 15 cars at one time or another...that's a fine statement on commitment. Quality over quantity in this case...all Celicas, except 1 Matrix, 1 BMW. Weather and beach (however somewhat of a geriatric crowd on sand) was solid and no trouble from the federali's (they were actually enjoying our group and stopped patrolling early). Beer consumption was at an all-time high at the meet and especially afterward.

I was reminded of that fact very early Saturday morning when I had to drop off the visiting ex-gf from Vegas near that retirement home on Rt 70 (Medford maybe) instead of joining the ill-fated Philly meet. Booty call saves me from arriving late with the other no shows.

Here's parts of 2 words for those that committed to show and dropped the ball...f 'em...you should know better. It doesn't matter to me now since we had an f'n good time, but at the time when I arrived and maybe 2 hours into it, I was :wtf: . I don't want to sound harsh but that was my first reaction.

Well, excuse me! I was up at 8:45 to hit the gym so I could be there by 1:00PM. Since this was my first time meeting everyone, I was simply expecting a bigger turnout so I can meet everyone and see their cars. No attendee was pissed that more than half the crowd didn't show. You're right, sh!+ happens. It just shocked me that sh!+ happened to more than half the group. Imagine you're going to a sold out concert with 20,000 tickets sold and only 8,000 show. The example's on a much grander scale, but you'd be :wtf: as well.

We must get on the same page here. Meets are great with a few cars and members, but greater with more participation. AC, Philly, Seaside, they're all viable for the summer. As for my f'em statement, trust me, I'm not a belligerent or nasty guy ;) , I'm just a man of my word, but sh!+ does happen to everyone.

Yeah, I was originally going to meet Eric and the crew at 9:30 for early morning eats but I got on unexpected suedo-West Coast ex-gf at the door and in my best mafioso voice, "She made me an offer I couldn't refuse." This threw a wrench into the plans for the pre-meet since I had to drop her off somewhere on Rt 70 so her friends could intercept her before 930a Saturday morning. The pre-11a arrival gave me time to wipe some road dust off the wheels, talk to strangers, and walk the beach so it was just fine.

Then I saw porkchop, ghostface, etc. snoopin' around my car when I got back from the beach so I figured either a group was breaking into my car or the meet had officially started.

As for a big trip like Seaside, it would be cool to check into a few rooms down there such as the place where we changed our friend to a spare and met Al, the cleaning man and police sympathizer. Actually, based on what you said she said, maybe she had an unfavorable time with one or some of the guys. I don't think anything negative happened, but I missed that part. She just probably felt outnumbered. Actually, I considered bringing my ex-gf from Vegas that I was with Friday night (who was in NJ for the part of the weekend and she booty called ME), but this was my first meet with this group and I wanted to spend more time with the guys and I know her level of enjoyment wouldn't have paralleled mine.

if i get my car back from the shop i be down for a seaside meet. i missed saturday cause my engine blew. spark plug broke apart inside and blew the cylinder and a couple valves. needs new engine which is on its way covered under warranty. anybody know how my spark plug could have done that? but anyway that is why i couldnt show. i wanted to meet everybody on here and that was the best chance i had to go and crap like that happens. damm

Damn, I just read these. All very good. The girl at the door let me take three clothes hangers from the bar as well. Those Portuguese sure can flow. I co-signed for her car, bought 5K of bedroom furniture, had all the utilities in my name, etc. What I learned about our similarities and differences while living together caused me to move out. Even after it was all done, she wanted me back even to the level of wanting me to move back in, but I really became exhausted of being "on" all the time.

I'd get home from work (being "on") and in the old days of not living together, I could take things more at my speed and relax (turning "off") occasionally. After moving in, I'd get home from work and she'd want to speed off somewhere, about 95% of the time, be it with her friends at a club, restaurant, out to eat with each other only, etc. Sure, they're usual relationship items, but the deluge of activities drowned me. There are many other items, such as not wanting to marry as soon as she did and other differences, but I did my best and was honest to both of us. It was time to get out.

We have some bills to work out like her taking over full responsibility for "her" car and the furniture as well as transfer of utilities out of my name and about $700 she owes me, but I figured better now than later when the water could be over my head without a life preserver.

Stats show 50% of marriages work out these days. Some luck is involved because when you sign on the dotted line when you get married, you cannot possibly know 100% about what you're buyin' into (car loan analogy for marriage). I'm in no way against the convention of marriage. Just do what you can now to make sure its right for your girl and you. If so, all aboard.

It maybe only happened 3 times but 2 were substantial. On these two occasions, if I didn't have a good hold of the beer, I'd guess the beer would have flown (still in glass) a considerable distance, spilling out the contents slowly while in air and possibly landing on innocent patrons, the owner, and/or the Weezer wannabes on stage. :eek:

Eh, who does that crap? Sometimes people go overboard, but how can the group cut him off? Danny, as he mentioned before, wants make an effort to avoid the dreaded Grey Goose (Orange flavor) and Hennessey one-two punch that was delivered in the form of a right uppercut to his gut...resulting in the quick puke. We can monitor his progess back to the land of "innocent, I won't spill Will's beer(s), make the group wonder where you are puking next, wonder if you'll make it home alive, and stop breaking Derek's talking beer opener" alcohol consumption...sort of a 12-step program and we're his monitors from now on ;) .

Honestly, Danny was one of the coolest kids to make it to Seaside, but the beers, shots, and more beers just got the best of him for one night. Surely, we can give him another chance. :)
