19" wheels will fit. I personally don't care for anything bigger than an 18" wheel on the Celica but a few on here have pulled off 19' wheels very well. Just search for pics.

supposedly 20's fit too..kid around here has some god ugly chrome's on his car. Just heard about it, didn't care to find out the truth. I wouldn't do 19's on a daily driver..that's just me.

Here's a pic of 18s from one of our meets. This guy is dropped too. You can see a world of difference with my 17" undropped car.

19's only look good on a kitted and dropped celi IMO. They will also slow you down a great deal. If you want looks then go for it. I like my 18's, however, all the rides with 19's in this thread look really REALLY NICE!!!

hombredelassrta
10-30-2008, 10:52 AM
19x8 which is just about too big as it rubs when lowered in the 2" range.

But it all really deals with the wheel width and the offset to see if they will fit or not

hombredelassrta

you could probably put 22's on stock. issue is offset, width, tire size and how low the car is

18s destroy the car's performance

I can't imagine what 19s would be like.

hombredelassrta
10-31-2008, 07:59 AM
^^ slightly worse ;). They are heavy beasts. I'm sure if you could find some lightweight forged ones it would be ok but that is out of the budget range for most

18s destroy the car's performance

I can't imagine what 19s would be like.

It would be a complete waste of money, IMO, to get 19s for that reason. Plus, it destroys the car's fuel economy.

I had 18s on my GT when i had one and it didnt change my gas mileage hardly if any. I did notice a change in performance but its also a matter of you are going for. Do you want looks or performance.

I have a 300+whp 1989 MR2 in the making, so if I want to race I drive that one, for me the celica is just for cruising, hitting lift and that's it.

I haven't had no problem with nothing and like hombre said it's all about the offset. It slows the car a bit, but even I got to admit, it makes the car look nice.
If you want a more speed and style, I'll got with 18's if I were you.

why do you have staggered front/rear wheels on a FWD car?

That's just going to induce even WORSE understeer than the car already has.

That sucks to hear. I ripped off my back bumper the other day and i was considering just starting up on a new body kit, but everything i've read says they rarely if ever fit right and have to be modified and end up being pretty pricey, which doesn't work for me.

Haven't been to AUA in a long time. People here in CUR have piped down a bit on the lightings since "keuring" has become a bit more stringent.

I'm trying to figure out where you took the pic, was it on the road to San Nicolas?

That's right, I'm not sure if "keuring" here checks under the car for lightings, but could be why people here are not using them as they used to use them in the past.

Yes the picture was taken in San Nicolaas - Colony at Rogers Beach

There's more Celi's with 19's than I thought. On Hombre's and JP's car the 19's look bad ass. 19's are easier to pull off on a widebody celi, but you don't need a widebody to pull them off. I have 18's and am happy with them.
