Alright heres the deal. By the end of the summer i will have enough $ to do either a kit or rims. But heres the dilema. When i bought my car i never realized that somebody must have rear ended it because i didn't see the scuff mark deal right dead center of the bumber. My car is spectra blue and i guess the accident took the paint right off of it. So the black and blue all blended together. We never saw this before the day i got it home because everytime we went to go look at it, it was night. Also, i'm not even gonna go into this next story but i'll just tell the end result. The right part of my front bunper (a couple inches from the fog light) ended up getting gauged a bit, a couple inches long. Noticable but nothing too bad. This made me want to put the body kit on it. However, will the kit look ok with factory rims??? So should i do the rims first or the kit? FYI i was thinking kam kit or the mechanical front bumper (trd look alike) on mbautosport. anyone have advice for me on which to do first??? Also how is the quality of the mechanical front bumper? Please help lead me in the right direction!!!

rims before kit - IMO kit without rims to me looks kinda ricey
I honestly don't like the look of our cars with rims w/o a kit... I'm doing kit then rims.... flames or not :) plus they'll be one after another so it's not like I'm doing the no-rim thing for an extended period of time. :D it also depends on the kit... *undecided* lol...

It's your car, you're going to have to look at it everyday, you're the one paying for it, you're the one driving it, it's your decision. If someone doesn't like it, then tough.

I'd only be in a rush to swap the stock rims if they looked terrible, but they're actually pretty nice. Go ahead and swap what looks MOST terrible first, in this case your screwed up bumpers.

I just got my 18's on, and it looks really good. I live in Pa also, so I wanted to get a nice set of wheels/tires for summer driving so I can put winter tires on my stock wheels.

I personally ordered a kit the day after I bought my Celica and drove it around for a month before I put rims on it. I don't know if you'll have the money for rims in the future or not, but I had to get a body kit first. It is a tough choice --- if you will be able to get the wheels you want 3 months after you put the kit on then get the kit first, If not --- just get some rims and put the extra cash aside toward the body kit (if there is any extra cash). Peace

Really, I am going to get my kit this week, and I am going to run around with the stock GT wheels with the wheelcovers on for a while. Why? Because I want to get the kit first, then decide what rims will work best on it.

I'm in the same situation except that a friend of mine is getting ready to sell his Celi and is selling me his kit/exhaust/hoodscoop. I could get wheels a little more but this is too good a deal to pass up on. So I'll be on stock wheels for a while too.

GTS stock rims aren't bad - i kinda like those like for the meantime...
i'd go with kit then rims...
on the other hand - GT has some ghetto rims...if i had a GT i'd get rims first...
