Everyone email Toyota Customer Assistance, call, write, knock on the door, sleep with their wives, bribe their kids, threaten their jobs, make friends with their moms, send them fruitcake, offer money, whatever.... let's get this rev limit fixed!!! Our cars are soon to be dominated by WRXs, EVOs, RSX-Ss because Toyota doesn't feel the enthusiasts! Ask what the rev limit for the 03 and future models will be and whether there will be a fix for the 02. Explain the performance loss vs. the 01 and how you want to sell your 02 to get a WRX (BS or something) because of the rev limit. Explain how magazines are ridiculing the Celica because of their "glitch"... quote SCC (sport compact dummy!) about how Toyota said it was a "glitch". Tell em you want it fixed!

Click on FAQ page to send the email (the layout and navigation on their site is retarded) I have emailed through here before and got quick response.

Call Go Toyota 1-800-GO-TOYOTA. (I called them to)

Call Customer Assistance quote from their site "If you have specific questions or comments about Toyota or any of our vehicles, please call our customer service line at 1-800-331-4331. We're glad to be of service." Hold them to it!

This may have been done before, but what the hell, right? I'm probably getting an 02 or 03 after arbitration/lemonlaw so don't wonder why Tony "01Gt-s" cares so much!

If everyone does this maybe we can have an effect. If anyone goes on www.nextcelica.net anymore copy this post over to there!

Reply here if you DO contact them so we know how many people are doing this. Copy and paste their replies when you get them. Maybe we can catch them in a lie and get to the truth. Mulder once said "the truth is out there" and I believe it IS dammit!

Hopefully when the Apexi PowerFC comes to the States, the rev-limit won't be an issue.

Yeah but 02 (maybe 03) owners should not have to spend additional money (and void warranty) to get their 02 (03) to perform as well as an 00 or 01.

I have to say that I honestly dont care about the future of it. If toyota doesnt give a crap, then I'll simply move over to a new car manufacturer.

And Mitsubishi wins my money for an Evo. I think you'll be shocked when the specs are released. A Mistsubishi mechanic just got back from a meeting, it is being discussed on the Eclipse 3G forum, that it will be a modified 99 GS-T engine, with advertised numbers of 270HP for insurance reasons with true HP numbers more in the 300 range.

Look fast? No thanks, I'd rather go fast than just look it.

that's premature to say...Mitsu is an awesome company who obviously cares about what people want (at least, they're starting to).

The bottom line is that me (a consumer) shouldnt have to beg toyota to make cars that actually have power...they should care enough. Then the consumer can reciprocate by spending their cash. Toyota's lack of concern = lack of consumers.

Well after waiting on hold at Toyota Customer assistance I spoke to a guy there about the 03. He said they have no specs on the 03 and that they won't be available to him for another month. I told him that I knew SOMEONE had to know because the car has to already be in production. I explained to him that I am going to arbitration and that I felt if they gave me an 02 with a lower rev limit that I would be getting a car that performed worse than the car that I bought (I quoted this site and SCC). Of course, he had never heard of the 02 rev limit problem, no one I've spoken to at Toyota ever has. Anyhow, he put a note about it in my arbitration case file... so... we'll just have to wait and see what happens. Where else can we call to get info about the 03?

Why the hell are you on this board then? Not trying to be disparaging but why do you spend time on here if you don't care about the car?

I'm saying most of the people who bother to read and post on here are actually interested in the car, not just trolls...
