See what you have selected in the "display options" at the bottom of the forum page. Make sure it's set to "from the begining" instead of from "the last 2 days".

Hmm... I thought I there would be more topics going on in the autocross section. I am going to be participating in my first autocross at the end of this month. :wiggle:

Celica is good in autocross but it's been forgotten in SCCA. It never got reclassed like it should and people just stopped racing them.

Well thats not good since the autocross I am running in this month is a SCCA sanctioned event... :(

Ha, no the Georgia season is not over... we run pretty much the whole year. It never snows here and it doesn't get bitterly cold till around Christmas time. This November event is going to be one of the biggest of the years for us. :wiggle:

That's ok just run and have fun. Celicas are fun as well forgiving.

My avatar on the regioal autocross site says "why kill cones when you can kill timers". Those things are expensive.
If you are in G-stock and there are minis there, forget it.
If you are running against other novices, just run. Seat time is good experience. It doesn't matter what you are driving.
I mostly run the MR2 in autocross now. It's a little better in its class.

I ****ing hate those Minis

I'm tempted to go from G-Stock to STX but I'd imagine they're just as dominant there.

Judging from the car in his sig, he's running in a faster class. At this point, just compete against yourself. Make sure each run gets faster. Don't touch the car anymore. There's so much learn from the car even in stock form that any modifications will just make the car harder to drive.

I race a Mini.

Yep, I won't be running in the stock class for the Celica, bc of the few lil mods I have to the car like the drop, intake, and exhaust. I think someone told me that I would be in the like street modified class, which personally sounds like to me that I will just get beat that much worse. But I am not going to worry about it too much, I am just going to go out there and just have fun and get a feel for the sport my first couple of times out. I have been to a couple of the events though just to watch, and I have to say that they are very fun!

^ That would be awesome... but it would be a drive for you. They do have ocasional events in the Atl area though. Maybe if Im still hard into the whole autocrossing thing then we could get peeps to show up at one of the events up there close to Atlanta. :wiggle:

Yup. Your CF hood puts you in SM. That class has a lot of allowances and people that run there have big budgets. You need at least RWD or AWD and maybe FI.

If it comes around your area, do an Evolution school. They're pricey but worth it.

not to mention his drop and intake put him in STS before he goes to SM from the carbon fiber hood.

EVO school is amazing. My times dropped to actually being competitive after it.

Have you done the other phases besides the first one? Who was your instructor?

I only did phase I - I'll do phase II next summer

I had Ron (Tan, hairy chested guy from Jersey with gold chains) and Cory (short, young kid with acne) and some other middle aged guy who I can't remember because I didn't really have any seat time with him.
