Just saying g'day....its been a while since I visited this board. I was quite active ages ago (look at my registration date!). Used to have a 2000 ZR, nice car :) Ahh, memories.

ZR Spec,

What are your impressions of the S15?

Is it as much fun to drive as your Celica?

Are you gonna keep it stock or modify it - there seem to be a lot of modified S15's getting around, some of them look really good.

Hi Matty P,
I love my S15. Part of the reason I got rid of the Celica was lack of aftermarket parts for it. How's the situation now, any better? I've had my S15 for about 1 and a half years now and its fairly modified....putting down about 190rwkw. I've done a 13.3 pass although I can break into the 12s if I can get traction. The Celica, pitted against its direct competitors integras, Fto's etc is fairly good, in fact I rate it higher than the FTO cause my sis has one. But, against turbos....no chance :(

Wow - that's pretty impressive numbers. Well done!

It would take a lot of effort and $$$ to give the Celica that sort of power - and even more to make it capable of handling it!

To be honest, if the S15 had been out at the time I bought the Celica, I probably would have bought the 200SX instead. They are a great package and a good basis for mods.

There is still no aftermarket support for the Celica in Australia.

Oh well, it's still fun to 'school' Commodore drivers with! :D

hey guys,
just an opinion i heard.... this guys i know has had the opportunity to thrash cars throught the national park here in syd.
he's had new celica, but now he's driving an s15. his personal opinion reckons the celica was a better handling car through the park. any comments?

Depends what your definition of "better handling" is I suppose.

Celica is probably more predictable and easier to control on the limit, but it would be hard to claim that a stock Celica handled better then a stock S15.

I reckon that with a bit of suspension work and some great tyres the Celica could handle as well or better than a stock S15.

I haven't driven an S15 yet :wtc: but I would love to see how they handle compared to S15.
