so i was detailing my car yesterday, and i cleaned my car from head to toe. so i was cleaning my glove, and i decided to check my cabin air filter cuz i've never replaced it. well i open it up...and there's no filter. what the fu*$? i went ahead and added my own filter, but what the hell? no wonder why my car get's dusty so fast. i'm wondering if the dealership never even replaced this when i bought it. i bought it used with 9k miles on it. weren't they suppose to do a full check up before they even sold it?

you have to look up the cabin air filter option for the toyota solara.. its the same one as that... cost is about 30 dollars shipped to your dealer. and its a hepa air filter... victorgts has an install guide for them on his celicagarage site that shows you how to make it out of AC household air filter.

Here's the link: http://www.newcelica.org/other/installs/insidefilter/index.htm
I've noticed a difference from it already. Not bad...4 changes for $17 from Lowes, haha

Hmm...I thought the US always came with one, but it doesn't obviously from the looks of above statements. I think I need to get one though, my car gets dust on the inside too quickly for my taste.

Toyota is cheap. If they save $1 on every Celica they sell they willl save thousands.

Yeah, just check the filter about every 3 months. I let mine go for about a year before remembering to check it and ended up with ~1/2 of dust and bugs, rocks, leaves....all kind of crap stuck to it. No wonder the air flow seemed slow.
