Hello all, my friend just got a fix it ticket for her front window tints (25%). She got this fix it ticket from San Francisco. So my question is, is that all she has to pay is $10 and proof that the tint was fixed (taken off)?
Also, is there a difference between a fix it ticket for tint and an actual TINT ticket? ( We searched online and some people they got a tint ticket for $300?!)
My next question is, does fix it tickets stay in your record in any way? If she decideds to put back on her tint and she get pulled over, will there be a record of her having a previous fix it ticket and will she get into bigger trouble? Or will she just get another fix it ticket? How many fix it tickets can you get on one speficic violation (tint, exhaust)?
Thank you so much all!!! A great help for my firend, and for me as well. I always wanted to know the answer to these questions!!

i got a fix it ticket once for having a clear license plate cover on my car. it was slightly yellowed like headlights due to age. I got a ticket for that. i took the cover off, went to the police station and gave an officer my ticket. he took a look at my car to see the cover was off and signed my ticket with officer number and everything. I mailed the ticket in with a $10 check. Don't know if the violation stays on record or not.

I doubt a small infraction like a tinted front window would have any impact on future moving violations.

just take the tint off, go to the police office and pay the $10 then put it back on the next day

What you can do is buy an extra set of windows from a junk yard, swap it out, get the ticket signed off, and swap back the tinted windows. That way you wont be spending money to retint the windows again.

HEY ALL!! I like it when people are actually trying to help. It feels Welcoming!! Well, my friends major concern is that if she takes the tint off and gets it signed by an officer and settles everything she has to do for this fix it ticket, what will happen if she re-tints her car and she gets pulled over by an officer? Will the previous fix it ticket show up on her record and will she get a bigger ticket becasue she put back on the tint?
THANKS SO MUCH!!!

I've never gotten a fix-it ticket for my tinted windows; I just got fined each and every time. I'm surprised they gave your friend a fix-it ticket. I'd imagine that they would hope you would keep them on so that they can give out future tickets.

my windows are 5%, and I've never had a problem. I don't believe it stays on the record, but I'm not 100% sure

It doesn't. Infractions against a vehicle don't, infractions against a driver do. So long as you pay them, that is. It's like a parking ticket.
well nothing ever gets completely removed from your record, but it really shouldnt matter, just fix the problem show up at the station, pay your fine, done
