Hey Im doing my own clutch install, need directions. I have clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, throwout bearing, new bolts to bolt flywheel to crank. I also have a tranny hoist but no service manual.

I need a description of what I have to do in what order if anyone has one. Like what to unbolt when. Ive heard its not too hard and I can figure out what to do after the tranny is off, but what do I need to do to do this job. AND once the tranny if off on the hoist, does it come up or down to be able to install the flywheel and clutch?? Also...there is a tranny disassembly in the TSBs, is that what I have to do? It seems VERY complicated for a simple clutch install. Any help or directions, from simple unbolt this, then that to detailed explainations would be VERY helpful. Thanks.

I just put a new clutch and pressure plate in my GTS this last Friday, it took about 4 hours to get the thing out, and about 3 hours to put it back, it was not very hard, I did it with no help, I recommend having someone to help because there is a lot of times the extra hand would have been nice you can e mail me and I can give you some details on what to take off and when, e-mail me and I can give you my number and you can call me, it is a pretty detailed process, not complicated just a lot of junk to take off.

Hey GulfCoast if you need any help you can call me too. I did my own clutch back in November. The only problem is space to work with under there. Just in Case 1-512-947-0300, I'm in Austin BTW

get the service manuals if you plan on doing something of this nature on your own

Well I was really hoping to do it without service manuals, seeing as how theyre $120 and a simple description of what I'm supposed to do would suffice.

Anyways, I went to the dealership for the 8 middle bolts on the flywheel, and they wanted like $7.47 EACH!!!!! ****. Anywhere I can get these cheaper or something...geez....

Oh and can anyone actually just post some directions/email me? I cant spend all day on the phone while Im doing the install, plus I prefer to print out the copies and have them there for reference. Thanks.
