what the hell is wolfenhag and where the hell would you find those. I have never heard of them. But usually a really good sub with decent power handling will not be found for $126. 1000 watts is a big claim and I doubt that it would sound good at that level
What are the cones made of. Are they single or dual voice coils, what are the specs.

The consensus I've seen on other audio boards is that they are crap. Not surprising since I believe that they are made by Pyramid. I'd stay away from them.
What is your price range and what do you plan on using the subs for? SPL or SQ? That would help us reccomend other subs.

if u want 1000 watt subs that put out 1000 watts for a low price but really good quality, i recommend the Rockford Fosgate HX2 , i have had these in the past and these subs bump hard.. u can get em for bout 150 each.. really gud price..

I would strongly reccomend the JL audio W7 sub, I have a 12W7 in my car and it is amaizing in every way. Not only is it the best sounding sub I have ever heard, it is also shockingly loud, you really get the best of both worlds, SPL and SQ. It hits super low yet still manages to bring out midbass that I didn't even know was in the track because my old eclipse sub couldn't reproduce it(and eclipse makes great subs IMHO, so its not like I wasn't getting all the frequencies because of crappy equipment, its just that the JL 12W7 is so awsome). You don't need two if you go with the W7, one will be more than enough. I know all that sounds like some kind of bad ad campain, but it is honestly by far the best subwoofer I have ever heard.

Kna, here you go. They are called Volfenhag ZX-4712 DVX. Check out Car Audio Expert. They usually have some good reviews and can put you in the right direction. You had it spelled wrong and they are pretty new. Check the link below.
One note.. if you want this kind of sub you are going to need some serious power to push them.
Happy hunting.

Kick ass over priced woofers....
Infinity Kapa Perfect...Great sounding woofer...way way over rated(1400watts, yeah when hit by lightning)....Blew one with a little 500watt amp...at decent volume, no distortion....
@ $300
I dont know the model, but the high end alpines are pretty nice
@ $300
JL---good sound, also over priced
good deal woofers.....
Kicker Solobaric Circles(if you can still find em) and the new Kicker SoloBaric Squares are extreamly powerfull for the price..I think @200
The Kicker Comp VR's are also a very good woofer for the price...Its kickers best Circle Woofer right now, about $150
The upper end AuditBahn's sound damn good too...If you look on Ebay, you should be able to find a pair for around $300 for the 700watt RMS ones....Ive never seen these sold anywhere in PHX, but I hear nothing but good things about them...
This is all from personal experiance......

Also consider the new JL W6v2s ... I have the JL W6v2 12"s and the bass is very clean and pounds. I call it the poor man's W7 as it shares many of the same technology as the W7 just not as powerful.

I prefer Polk subs myself. I have to DB12's but they don't make them anymore. They replaced them with the DX's which aren't as good. I lilke the Polk's because I want SQ and they also don't need a large enclosure.

kkrkeith7, I had one of thoes titanium Eclipse sub's and my JL audio 12W7 puts it to shame! Seriously, if you are looking for the "best" sub, you need to at least listen to one before you buy anything else.

pyramid sucks bad. don't. get some jls. even their cheap ones are better than the best pyramids. IDs are good too, lots of stuff. there is no "best sub" really as your post is titled. maybe the w7s, but there's other stuff out there like IDmax's too that re up there with em. not counting those few, lots of subs sound good but its mostly the install. get the right airspace and the right power to a lot of subs and it'll sound really nice. just make sure you do that. even the "best" subs will sound like garbage if you install them bad, compared to a really well installed mid priced sub.

A Noobie question
Whats a SQ and SPL, hopefully its something i kno, but not the abbreviation. Hehe

sq is sound quality,
spl is like, sound pressure level i believe. it means just loud basically.

IDmax, eclipse alum, audiomobile mass. Just some suggestions, it all depends on your taste. The W7 is a good woofer, but for the price, you can buy others that are just as good if not better. Hope that helps.

image dynamic subs................any of them kick ass even their low end series
but if you want a really kick ass sub i would get the image dynamic id-max. best sub i have ever heard
the only jl's i like are the w7's...all the other jl's sound good for a couple months then they go down hill.
kicker also makes a really good sub as well as mmats
i would stay away from audiobahn. i ran those before as did a couple of my friends and i think they just suck. i'm also not a big fan of eclipse or infinity
i also think the polk momo's sound good too
but like J3adSeed said its all about the install. almost any sub can sound good or bad for that matter. it all comes down to the install and personal preference

all of the jl's go downhill after a month?
where are you basing the information off of? quality? subjective audio?
i had 2 12w6's for 2 years, and i was teary eyed when i sold them for a 15l7. i kinda wish i never sold them!
and after 1.5 years, i hit 144.7db after i sealed them up, i still have the official score

I would have to recommend the JL W6's, yes there are subs out there that are better, pricewise and soundwise but since they are being discontinued you can usually find a decent price if you look around online. I am on my second trio of them and have never had a complaint except for one of the dust caps came loose atfer a year and a half. Nothing some glue didn't fix and they didn't miss a beat. But that's my opinion and you know what they say about opinions...
Ha guys quite bull****ing yourselfs everyone knows JL w7s are the best out period get 2 12's and youll be POUNDING Trust me thats what i have now. with a directed 400 to each sub sounds good.

How does the Rockford Fosgate Punch HX2 compare with the w7? What is the difference between the power hx2 and the normal hx2?

U MUST BE INSANE or DEAF!!! damn bro thats nuts... i have 3 jl audio 12" w6 and they are loud, but I DEFINATELY RECONMEND THE JL AUDIO w7.... that is some ill sh!t and definately will be great for any application or music you like. factor in that subs sound louder with different enclosures and amps also help tons, so do head units...

400 is not enough for a 12w7. you'll probably get better sq and spl taking that 400 to each and sending all 800 to one of them. a 12w7 with only 400 watts underpowering it would probably sound pretty average. i think you are just caught up in all the hype.

JL audios are good.. if you can afford the W7 get it.. but the W3's are also good, i had three 10" W3s in my old civic before it got stolen, and of course they took the subs.
RIght now i have single 12" Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1, it sounds pretty good, but I thought the three 10" W3's sounded like it hit tighter, but its probably because there were three of them as opposed to just one ..
I heard that Infinity Kappa Perfects sound good in a bandpass box but can anyone confirm this? I have it in a sealed box right now, but i want it to hit harder, and maybe cleaner, if possible.

For the price, I got one 12" Alpine Type-R powered by Rockford Fosgate 500a2. I got the sub for $120, pretty decent price for the amount of performance that I got out of it, but this sub isn't as clean as eclipse aluminum, but nevertheless a good buy by my standards.

I have a Infinity 12.1 Sub. Just bought a QLogic Bandpass Box that I'm going to install it. I was advised to get a sealed box but I'm going to go ahead and hear how it sounds with Bandpass. I'll be sure to let you know.

JL subs are nice but man are they power hungry. I had to get a JL 500/1 to power my JL 12W6v2. The 300/2 didn't do it any justice. The JL 500/1 melted my 4 gauge wire BTW. I had to rerun with 4 gauge cable. LOL!
