I just got myself some tiresets last night. 225-45-17. As i was coming out of the parking lot today. fully turned to the right and moving in reverse slowly, i heard 2 *tug* sounds. I used to have 215/45/17 and never experienced that. anyone have an idea what that is? and is that dangerous? I tried doing the same at the gas station but the sound din't happen anymore, but this time i was reversing really really slow.

well i've confirmed it... both sides when fully turned to the left or right and when backing out makes this tug sound. i think it's some kind of rubbing but why is it not a hissing or rubbing sound? I also checked the inside wheel well wall.. and there's this faint rubbing mark on the front section. i don't see any marks at the back section though. anyone experienced this tug sound?

sounds like the tires are rubbing to me
You might need to buy some spacers to keep the wheel far enough out from the body.

how wide are your wheels?

wheels are just 17x7. and the tires are 225-45 so they're kinda wide for the rims. the thing that puzzles is me that why it produces a *thug*ing sound instead of a rubbing/hissing sound. i never experienced that when i had 215-45-17. and i know most of you guys run even 225-40-18 w/o any problems.

ok guys... this is really weird... jacked up the car and looked for rub marks... there aren't any... i put my hands in to feel the gap between the fender and tires and i can still fit 1 finger. i don't think it's rubbing... but the car *sometimes* does a thug sound and feels like the car hops when backing out full turned. any idea what that is?
