as far as the wiring goes its not that bad. It's the actual mounting of the speakers thats difficult. They wont just bolt right back up to the stock mounting brackets you either have to make customs brackets yourself or pay somewhere to install them.

not hard at all if you have ever done any stereo work. and instead of drilling out the rivets just screw the new speaker into to the old plastic mounting ring, it worked for me and that was almost 2 years ago and not a rattle yet. Doing them one at a time it took me a total of about 3 hours.
FYI for the rears its easier to take the back of the back seats off to get the plastics off.

Didn't someone cut out the stock speaker and reuse the OEM mounting bracket?
I think I saw a thread like that somewhere.

^ yeah there is a tutorial for that floating around somewhere. when I did my rears I ended up drilling out the rivets and then drilling new holes for the set of mounts that came with the speakers. It was a bit of a pain but it holds up well. I would suggest reusing the OEM mounting brackets. its a lot easier and much more clean.

Will you hear any difference?
I thought it's too noisy inside compared to Lexus.

Lexus has thick noise isolation mats around the cabin.
Celica has almost nothing and a noisy engine.

of course you will hear a difference. that is probably the sixth dumbest thing I have heard on these boards. just because the celica doesn't have the the noise insulation of a lexus doesn't mean you won't hear the difference in upgraded speakers.

Could you prove it? Record a classical concert before and after your speaker upgrade cruising on a freeway with 4,000 RPM, and let us hear the difference.
We don't talk about an additional huge subwoofer in the trunk.

yeah it's a shame though I have to keep adding and reorganizing it on an almost daily basis though. This one isn't quite up there with marklar's miata comment and just about everything wjon has ever said. though I just had to move that last one down in favor of the kid who stuck a piece silicone coupler in his intake and was surprised when his throttle got stuck open.
And I can tell you right now that yes there is a difference. play phantom of the opera on the stock speakers and you can clearly hear them distort and break up when the strong bass kicks in. play the same song on my Alpine 2 Ways in the rear and no distortion only clear beautiful music.

this is by far the dumbest thing i have ever seen on the forums.
#1 you are going to question experienced sound people on what we know? Yes we were right the first time we said it. there is a noticeable difference when just replacing speakers. I can see you are a simple minded fool so i will be easy on you. How loud can u turn your old stock stereo before distortion kicks in? i would say for me since i have a picky ear that's anywhere between 70-75%. So with new speakers that can handle the power of the STOCK amp better you would be able to turn them up to maybe 90-95% 100% in some cases. so that is an increase of 20-30%.
and how would we prove it by recording it? thats like watching HDTV commercials on your old CRTV or listening to HD radio commercials on you stock system. my crappy camera and you crappy pc speakers will never to it justice.
Edit: btw you cruise at 85 listening to classical concert music? :gap:

But you must prove that the sound of the high-revving engine doesn't distort the beautiful sound of music.
Classical music usually has full sound range.
For me, I just turn off the radio when I'm merging into a freeway because I can't understand what they are talking about.

I dont HAVE to prove anything to you. If you cant stand a little road noise in exchange for and incredibly low curb weight then but a boat of a lexus. and my stereo sounds flawless at speed FYI
