Are the K&N filters head any good? They were proven it gained 8hp on a short ram for a 2001 celica gts. Is this ture?

It's not really the filter that gains the 8hp, it's the whole package. 1st the short ram provides a straight path to the intake manifold/TB, but the freer flowing filter allows the air in quicker to the TB. But yes, the k&n filters are fine.

if i'm not mistaken INJEN uses K&N filters on all their CAI's as well.
I have used K&N filters on all my whips.

k&n is the best kind of filter to get, u can have a ****ty intake (piping) with a k&n filter and u will get better results from it..
yeap, i got a k&n filter hooked up to the stock pipe, its not bad, an improvement though

I think 8 hp is a little too much to expect.
4 to 6 hp is a more realistic number........

FYI, I tested my TRD filter on a chassis dynomometer, and it produced 1ph more than the stock air filter. A Celica GT did the same test and also gained approximately 1hp. The TRD filter is very similar to the K&N filter.
