no Russ the upgrade didnt fix it.. in a nutshell the site has whats called access masks which basically allows certain people into certain forums.. I had this turned on for the site so the GOF forum would work properly.. this for some reason made it so all forums were defaul invisiible (prolly a glitch in the software) but its what kept people from being able to get into forums without being logged on. so i turned off access masks and voila that problem fixed itself.. ofcourse it fixed tiself but caused like 10 other problems but I got them fixed too ;)
