I know before anyone takes the piss that a gts is better etc etc.
But i checked the 0 - 60 for the GT and all sites say its 8.7.
Is that really true cause i swear ive done better than that.......on a race track of course :)
I know its a stupid question but its not the worst ive seen on here :)

Low-mid 8 seconds on average. I think someone registered a high 7.8-7.9 but don't quote me on that.

yeah that seems about right. I work with someone thats got a new shape civic 2.2 cdti and were about neck and neck if not im slightly faster. Cheers for clearing that up
got 7.55 tracked with G-timer on my GT before any mods (15.7 on 1/4 mile).. pretty satisfying for a bonestock..

You do know that the G-timer isn't all too accurate right?

even so, give or take a little bit, that an impressive result. it did seem a bit ridiculous that the 0 - 60 would be pushing 9 seconds.
Seen a guy on youtube get 7.6 but then you dont see whether its slightly downhill :)
@GSBoek: yea, i know that, infact i always hated when someone tell me "Why should i go on the race track when i have a G-timer" and started to explain that it isn't the brightest example of accuracy... but as ollie said... even with a little give or take, again it's not like 8.6 (like the catalog numbers said)... I am pleasently surpriced with the result...

Your g-timer is off by about .3 seconds. I've only heard a few stock GTs hitting 15's stock. A trip to the dragstrip will give you solid numbers.
On a side note, when my GT was running, my fastest to 60 mph was 7.0 seconds. Of course, I had mods. (I/H/E)

Coinciding with the reported 5% inaccuracy in the 0-60 readings.
my GT is with different tranny from USA ... and i made several timings with 4 different gauges and the results are like it follows:
0-60: best 7.48 worst 7.80 average (from all starts all gauges:) 7.55
1/4 mile: best 15.69 worst 16.10 (misshifted twice) average 15.73
i wanted to make the calculations with as much different gauges as possible, but they all showed nearly familiar results... And once more - i don't think this is real. Mainly because it's stupid to say that one car has 8.6-7 0-60 time OEM and some looser from somewhere beats that time with more than a second. I say some looser because i am fully aware of that, that i am not better in any way than the Toyota test driver who made those results. As you may know, those guys make 10 starts from dig for example and 99.9% of the situations 9 of the 10 show the same stats :)
But the thing that matters to me is that with those gauges i see do i go upwards or downwards, i can track myself do i become better driver, do i shift good (and safe for the tranny, really important for me. Yes, its fun to accelerate, but it's more fun not to repair your car every week :))...

You may have a 6 speed but the gear ratios and final drive are the same. You just get an gear.

are those times the same for a matic GT?
correct me if i'm wrong, but i think those times are different for every single car ... and it really matters where they have been taken, atmosphere pressure, humidity, asphalt, tire temperature and so and so and so.... and i think that auto should be giving higher times ...

Yep, that's what it means, although around here the word intake is more common.
