So where did you get your info and what changes are you sure about? Will they change the fuel cutoff, will they give it a higher redline (a-la Matrix) or will they offer a new trim level??

That doesnt make sense why would toyota give me a 2003 model just because my rev limiter is at 7800rpms?
Or would they fix it?

as far as the 02 problem goes I'm trying to work on it with fellow celica enthusiasts... We're gonna ask you guys for a couple of things but it'll all happen in due time... you've waited this long... an extra month wont hurt you... we need to find out lots more info and we'll do that in the next month. Also please dont PM or IM me asking me who it is that I get my info from, cause thats obviously confidential... so dont even bother.. as always my IM/PM is always open to other inquiries.

why are all the o2 owners still waiting for Toyota to release a fix? why not just go do the mod that 2zzge did so you can rev up like yer supposed to??

I'm waiting for my knock sensor still. Been waiting almost 2 weeks now. We don't know if it works for sure or not either. I haven't seen any proof other than a few people saying its legit. I'm still doing the write up if it works. :)

Im not changing mine ATM cause of no real proof as well
I would rather wait for a toyota fix (if one comes along)
cause my car is leased.
A cai or exhaust mod is one thing on a leased car.
A diff. ecu and or knock sensor is a little more involved.
But if it comes down to it ill do it for the 500 additional rpm's
of lift.
Waiting a little longer tho

NO OFFENCE TO THOSE WHO CAME UP WITH THE FIX FOR US.
I APPRECIATE IT, JUST WANNA SEE PICS AND AN INSTALL WRITE UP BEFORE I PLUNK LEWT DOWN ON A ECU
...ACK CAPS =\

Actually the ECM swap is much harder to notice than intake or exhaust, and a lot LESS likely to cause any kind of problem.

Agreed but what if they plug you in to OBDII?

Why whould they? Its not like Techs get off on wandering around the shop looking for the scan tool just so they can hook it up to your car for no good reason. And if you start having a major problem you swap your old parts back in and your good to go. And even if they do have to hook it up its VERY unlikely that they would notice... I mean 00-02 all look the same for the most part... why would the tech care what ECM is in the car. Ya have to remeber Techs get played on commision by the job... the faster they get work done teh more they make, and sittign around messing with cars you have no reason to is NOT a way to make money.

They wouldn't give you a new car. We are hoping if enough people complain they will come out with a replacement ECU with the 8400 rpm rev limiter. The reason Tony is talking about getting a new car is because he filed for lemon law on his old one & is going to arbitration - totally different situation.

When I do it, I'm doing a complete write up. Just keep an eye out for it in the next 2 weeks.
