Loweing? Offsets? help! =o

hey,

i was wondering how many people actually have their cars lowered. Im going to get mine lowered and i wanted to know how low should i go.

Also i heard that lowering ur car makes ur tires life less. It suppose to bend it or something...is that true?

And are neuspeeds good?

Also im gettin 17" rims with 205/40/17 tires and if i lower my car itll be 1.5", what should the offset be?

Yea it bends... like this / \
Top parts goes inward.... so most of the inner part of the tread wears out.. and less contact for treads... making a less traction..
This is cause by off aligned camber.... little drop doesn't do much.. but if you go like 2" or more.. camber goes off alot... just goto alignment shop and they'll align it.. but it if is too off. then you need like camber kit....
I'm gona go with 2.25" drop and just got alignment shop and align it.... or maybe get a camber kit...
I'm cheap so.. Just make them align it... LOL

do you drive a celica? Not sure neuspeed has a aftermarket for us. But they do for honda and vw. They are good for them!!

one of my cuzins said that he can put neuspeeds on...i don't think he has ne idea what hes talkin about, cuz i was wondering the same thing, if neuspeed actually has aftermarket for celica's. uhm so the tires will bend, doesnt' that suck if u spent lots of money on ur tires?...im gettin new tires soon, i don't wanna f.uckem up..

Mines lowered 1.8" and it aligned fine. I've got 15k on my "new tires" and they don't have any uneven treadwear.
