Anyone notice their power windows are getting slower? What's the best way to fix this? Take the door apart and lithium grease the power window gears and tracks? How easy does the door come apart?

The door comes apart pretty easily. Near the hinge there are 2 plastic caps, Under that are two screws. Behind the handle there is a plastic cover that is hiding a 3rd screw. Under the arm rest there is a bronze colored screw. and at the bottom lip of the interior two more screws. That should be 6 in all.
The just pull slightly out and up off of the window seating. Your door lock and handle will still be attached and short enough you really cant set it down or move it to the side. I believe there is one screw holding this assebly on.

if i was u guys, i would take it to the dealer, if your still warrantied that is.. and just get the motors replaced.. cuz if u dont, its a pretty expensive install to replace them, if their gettin slower its because theyr gonna stop workin soon, someone posted somethin about this.. like a 600 dollar fix.. take it to the dealer.. oh and soceur.. still waitin on the pics.. ;)

take it back, beauty of warranty, have them write u a formal letter of why the car has been in there, if it keeps happenin, lemon that bich!, and another thing, its a toyota policy that if the car has to stay overnight for 1 or more days they have to give you a loaner,, so u know that.. i dont know how long they take fixin the windows tho..

That was me :gap: I had both of the motors replaced under warranty. They work much better now. Go get them replaced while you can...

45K miles...i do have an extended warranty (warrantydirect.com), but i've already had problems with toyota refusing replace things that aren't broken.. example my belt tensioner...so I have a feeling that they won't replace them unless there is a TSB (unlike the belt tensioner) or it really is broken. makes me mad..i went and got this extended warranty, and they advertise it's just like bumper to bumper coverage, but yet toyota refuses to fix it under the warranty unless it's truely broken. guess my belt tensioner needs to fall off in order for them to replace it.

you know that even with the regular warranty there always someone besides you or the dealership paying for the fix... theres always a third party.. so unless its truly broken i think its unfair to ask them to fix it... unless its unsafe of course or has the potential to cause serious other damage, which i dont think sluggish windows fits in either of these categories.
out of curiousity, do you have tint on the windows.. cause that might be causing the motor to see more load b/c of more friction with the rubber sealant thing.

i agree amjed....toyota is not going to fix anything unless it's broken.
and no I don't have tint.

the one big thing you wanna look at is if the two windows are climbing at diff. rates.. that'll tell you if you're out of the ordinary since many times one isnt as used as the other.

yes, just like you'ld expect, my driver side is slightly slower then the passenger. although I'ld say 90% of the time I do roll up/down both windows at the same time.

Both my front windows have been replaced by Toyota. The drivers side made a grinding noise and the passenger side was slow. They didn't question the replacement. But it's still under warranty.
