CEL tripped again after another morning of bogging on startup. Tried cleaning the MAFS a while back to stop the bog problem but it didnt seem to help much (it wasnt very dirty to begin with).

Anyway I told the service guy I was thinking about removing my Injen CAI since this was the third time now with the CEL going on right after bogging in the morning. He said he'd like to take a look and see and it sounded like he wanted me to leave the CAI on (lol this is from a dealer?)

First time they changed injectors / CPU which there is a TSB out for anyway. Second time they swapped 2 ignition coils and it seemed like the bog went away at least for a while. Could have been my imagination I suppose because some times the bog problem is worse than others.

We'll see how this goes but I'm sick of the bog issue and since the celica is my daily driver I may get rid of the intake if I cant find a way to permanently fix it. What have been you guys' experiences with this issue?

I don't have an intake, but I have read about every one of these threads that post about bogging problems with an intake. To the best of my knowledge, most people have problems with the MAFs, but you took care of that, and went further, and it didn't help. If I were you, I would take the intake off. Sure, you may be set back a little bit as far as performance when your car runs well. But when it is bogging, you'll wish that you had the stock airbox in.

Um, I don't have an intake and never had and still have slight bogging that has gradually gotten worse... I think they know it isn't the intake, hence why they are doing any work on it at all.
