2009 Auto-X (Devens, MA)

Hey all I've been hibernating all winter waiting for the 2009 auto-x schedule to come out. It's finally arrived and I hope this year I can round up some people to get out on the course. As some of you may know there are many clubs that run at Devens, I usually attend Renegade Miata's events, here is their schedule.

Sunday, October 3rd
Saturday October 17th

These guys run a good event, not as many people as the SCCA events, but the course is usually a bit harder. Registration for non-members is $35 pre-registered, or $40 the day of the event. If your not sure you want to race you should just show on race day and check things out, its a good time.

NER-SCCA hasn's published their schedule yet, but I'll post it up when I see it.

cool, keep an eye on this thread and hopefully we can get a hand full of people to a race or two. Good luck with getting the suspension apart, all the salt on the roads up here makes it nearly impossible for a do-it-yourselfer to get those dam end links off.

Here's the deal with NER-SCCA. They are running 10 events this year at Devens. I'm not sure what their events are going to cost this year, but they have been more expensive than Renegade's events. I usually make it to a hand full of the SCCA events, but if anyone from here wants to go I'll make it a point to hit that one. Same deal applies, if you want to go and not race it doesn't cost a dime, so if you want to just check things out your more than welcome.

right around the same price I paid for my RT-615's.

I guess the RE-01R's are supposed to be a better tire... I'm hoping I can get thru this season on my Falkens.

i'm trying for 2nd hand, but if theres new ones for a good price, i'll buy them. anything other then stock shocks are fine because idk how much longer my shocks can take with the teins s-techs

whats the drop on the s-tech's? I dono if the KYB AGX shocks will out last OEM stuff... I think 1.5" might be the threshold. If your not looking for any added performance i might be inclined to get the OEM shocks.

yooooooooooooo dude. i would so love to go! i doubt anyone would let me race an auto gt-s. only thing i got on it right now is full suspenison. comp hotchkins sways, cusco stress, kyb agx's, droped a little, rollin on some pierelle pzeros. think i could go down?! anyone from PA wanna meet up and take the drive xD?!

if your crazy enough to drive all the way from PA, your more than welcome to race. I know of a couple clubs that race in CT, it would cut 2 hours out of your trip.

if its on the army base then I kinda know where, I used to do some work in one of the warehouses there. But the 19th is the UCONN meet so yeah...will have to check out some other time.

Feel like I'm talking to myself but ill give an update anyways...

The first event has come and gone... It was a really nice day to do some racing, unfortunately i could keep the car in control. I just put in Hotchkis sway bars and the car has a completley different feel, it was very evident as I crossed the finish line on my 3rd run sideways taking out the timing light and 8 other cones....YIKES! That run was my best time if you dont count the 8 sec in penalties, which sucks. Good turnout overall 79 drivers, which is more than they usually will allow. Hopefully some people get interested and decide to show up for the next race.
