need help !!!

hey u guys need some help i have a problem with my celica everytime i put gas in and start the car up the car stalls. The rpms just drop this has come and gone but its seems to get more frequent. everytime this happens i give it gas to keep the rpms up and it seems like once the gas goes though the enigne the car is fine its only when i first put gas in. have any idea wats causing this and anything i can do :confused: thxs

i don't know what causes it but my friend's eclipse does the same thing

Try a new gas cap. It probably isn't sealing properly.

i dont kno if it is the gas cap but it seems to still seal tight i turn it till it clicks

its not your gas cap. its part of the emission system. do a search in the repair and maintenance section. "2way" i know for a fact has your answer, i cant remember the abbreviation of the valve that is most likely on its last leg in your car. i had the same issue. im guessing your cel is on too?

edit: its the EVAP purge VSV. search for it and you should find pics of its location and the proper plug that is supposed to go into it. its its all plugged in right, the part might be about to croak

well mine was an easy fix. it was pointed out to me that the previous owner put the wrong plug on the evap vsv, so it was just a matter of swapping the plugs. after that, no issues whatsoever when filling up. but, if its all plugged in right, you'll need to buy another evap vsv. id def check with 2way and see, but im pretty sure thats been the source of the problem in most cases.
