Ok, so I got a newbie question for anyone. I am picking up my new 02 GT-S (6-speed) on Tuesday, is there any great tips and things I should know befor I drive it off the lot??

Also I had A 01 GT-S Sportshift (auto) in Hawaii, what is the difference going to be with a 02 6-speed at 7,000 feet elevation?

the rev limiter is going to be lower, and the shift gates are different, however since you owned an auto in the past, you wouldn't be able to tell.

check all the fluids to make sure is full. Once in awhile, the factory forgets to fill them. But it doesn't happen often tho.

and if your car is order in, then make sure is have a low milage. In my case, my car was ordered in and I told my dealer that I won't take the car if it have too much milage put on it. AND my car did came with 0.3KM !! :D :D :D altho they could reset it.

besides this there aint much that the dealer shouldnt have already taken care of.
Easy on the clutch/car for a lil :)

Check for scratches. If you see one mention it and they will buff it out for you.

1. Make sure no scratches on the car
2. Check all fluids
3. Make sure the dealership gives you your lightning rod antenna
4. Check mileage
5. Make sure they don't put one of those Dealership stickers on the car
6. Make sure they give you a full tank of gas for free.

Make sure your salesperson puts everything he promises you in writing.

Only things I'd reccomend:

1 - don't go over 4K rpm by much for the first 1K miles

2 - shift easy for the first couple months and learn your shifter real well before you try anything too hasty. This will prevent blown or missed shifts. If you do a search there are some threads with great advice on techniques for fast precise shifts and clutchwork.
