I'd venture to say that for some us it's not a hobby -- so there's no need. Those for who it is a hobby or side job for extra ca$h, then it makes sense.
Is it in your car? In your pocket? In your carrying case? Do you take it everywhere you go? Wherever, so long as it's extremely close to you. Cell-phone cameras DO NOT COUNT.
If you do or you don't, please share why.

For me personally, I don't take my camera everywhere I go. I only take it when I'm either going out of town, out of state, on vacation, or for some social event with family or friends.
My friend who's a photographer carry's two camera's with him wherever he goes -- one in his pocket and another in his car with tripod and an assortment of camera accessories that I know nothing about. It's nuts. I'm making this thread partly because of him.
Your turn.

Hmm lets see I usually leave my Nikkon SLR at home unless I know there is something specifically I am going to shoot, party, event, etc. I usually bring my little Sony cybershot around with me on most days.

i carry it with me everywhere that i go. just in case something good pops out and i have to shoot it. i also carry my tripod with me but i mostly use the tripod if i'm taking pics at night. Its a hobby of mine and i don't make money of out it because i'm not that good :chuckles:

Tripod/camera are always in my car. So i take it almost everywhere i go because i take my car all the time. If its not with me.. its not far from me.
I voted yes, only because I have my Canon Powershot in my car. I use the video feature to record my "traffic stops" with the police.
I've got a tripod in the trunk caddy.
I'm looking for a inexpensive Canon backpack to carry all of my DSLR acc. and camera body; my current bag is too bulky. :faint: Once I find the right bag, I'd bring my Rebel XTi everywhere.

Always have my bag of DSLR bits and a tripod in the boot. You never know, plus up until recently i've travelled a bit for work and you always get a few picture opportunities

I'd like to always have my SLR with me but it gets so cold in the winter and so hot in the summer I don't like leaving it in the car. I do want a smaller one I can leave in my pocket though.

Yep, thats why I don't leave my camera in the car. The sun here will destroy it in no time.

I only bring my camera to places that I know that there will be nice things to take pictures of. Otherwise I'd be too worried about leaving my camera somewhere and forgetting it.

I always have my camera because the best photo's are the unexpected ones. Sometimes it gets annoying because of the bag and carrying it around with the 3 lens I have with it and what not. Looking for a new case once I get this next lens and then it will be more convient. I do not leave it in my car because of weather destroying it so its always with me.
People tend to call it my purse since i have one of those bags that comes with the camera off of ebay.

I carry the Rebel if I think I'm going anywhere that might yield cool shots..

i used to take it everywhere i went with me. but it started to be a hassle cuz i do a lot of walking and moving through out the day. i normally keep it in my car but it gets too hot. i leave it home now.
